EFFECT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN ON MENTAL HEALTH AND ITS CORRELATION WITH PHYSICAL HEALTH AMONG HEALTHY WORKING ADULTS: A QUANTITATIVE STUDY

COVID-19 pandemic lockdown caused sudden and drastic alteration in the daily routine, which resulted in a psychological burden for the general population. So the study aimed to study the effect of lockdown on mental health and its correlation with physical health among healthy working adults. This quantitative, cross-sectional study was conducted in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India. A convenient sample of 590 healthy working adults was participated and completed a self-administered questionnaire. A paired t-test was used to compare the mean score of physical and mental health. Pearson correlation test was used to determine the correlation between physical symptoms and mental health. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the frequencies of variables. A significant P value was set at 0.05 at 95% confidence interval. The results showed that more than half (56.6%) of participants were reported that they had good physical health, on the other side more than half (55.1%) of participants reported that they had an average level of mental health during the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. The physical symptoms like headache, sleeping pattern, gas trouble, indigestion, and palpitation were had a correlation with mental health. In conclusion, the Covid-19 pandemic had a significant effect on the physical and mental health of the working adult population. Particularly, it affected the mental health of people which eventually had various noticeable effects on physical health also.

Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Psychological Health Status During Lockdown Period: A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective. The aim of this research was access the effect of lockdown on the psychological health status of people. Methods. This was an online questionnaire survey developed and circulated among people using snow-ball sampling techniques from April to mid of June 2020. The online survey collected information on demographic data and psychosocial health elements. Results. This study included 604 peoples (59.1% were female and 40.8% were females) of Haryana. A STUDY ON MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF INDIVIDUALS AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN

The worldwide Pandemic caused due to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), is posing a drastic effect on individual's mental as well as physical health. The transmission of disease can be prevented by various measures taken by the government in the form of social distancing, quarantine, isolation of the infected individuals and lockdown. These preventive and strict measures which are imposed on individuals require an evaluation of how these measures are affecting the mental health and well-being of people. This study was undertaken with the aim of assessing the Mental Health and Well-Being of individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Mental Health Inventory-5 and WHO Ten Well-Being Index were administered among 100 respondents. The study explored the impact of marital status and family structure on the Mental Health and Well-Being of individuals during the lockdown period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gender differences in Mental Health and Well-Being were also analysed. The results of the present study showed that the majority of the respondents scored high on Mental Health Inventory and nearly fifty-percent scored high on the Well-Being Index. Despite the COVID-19 Lockdown,the Indian population does not reveal disheartening results.The study revealed findings that may have a number of implications for further researches.

Physical, mental, spiritual and social wellbeing of urban population during the COVID-19 lockdown phases: a cross-sectional study

Background: COVID 19 pandemic created immense mental & physical agony among human beings worldwide. The present study was conducted to assess the physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing of young adults and the elderly, during the lock-down phase of COVID-19. Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted among 227 healthy adults in Bhubaneswar, capital of Odisha. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire pertaining to the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of participants. Results: During the lockdown, around two-thirds (65.4%) of the participants reported feeling helpless. The elderly felt more helpless than the young adults. Psychological Wellbeing and Personal Coping Strategies during COVID-19 Lockdown: An Empirical Study

This study analyzes the factors affecting psychological wellbeing and personal coping strategies adopted by individuals, “during the lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic”. Ox CAP-MH and Brief COPE was used to develop an online survey. Assessment of psychosocial health during COVID-19 Pandemic among Indian adults

Background: Lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic has an effect on all the dimensions of health. Previous epidemics and pandemics had made a catastrophic impact on mental wellbeing of general public. Methods: A cross sectional online study was carried out in the month of May. Data collection was done using Google form which contained semi-structured questionnaire. Results: Total 450 individuals participated in the study. About one-fourth of the participants felt depressed (28.9%) listening to the constant news updates about corona virus. Almost half of participants (50.7%) had altered eating habits. Nearly one-third of the participants had difficulty (35.1%) in falling asleep. Conclusion: This study reports that there is a negative impact on psychosocial health of general public who were confined to their homes due to COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

A STUDY ON EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING MIDST CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN

The nationwide Lockdown imposed in India in response to the containment of Novel Coronavirus Disease, COVID-19, has led to the inexplicit situation of people's Emotions. At one end of the spectrum are the responses that aroused due to difficulties witnessed, while the other end signifies the responses that emerged due to adaptation to the situation. The prevailing threat and fear necessitate the evaluation of emotional well-being during the lockdown. This study was conducted with the aim to assess the Emotional Well-being of individuals during Lockdown due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Emotional Well-being Scale was administered on 100 individuals. This study traverses the impact of marital status and gender on emotional well-being during the lockdown phase. The results suggested that there is no significant difference on the aspects of dimensions of Emotional Wellbeing as Mental Health(MH), Emotional Resilience(ER), Emotional Health(EH), Emotional Happiness(EHP) and Total Emotional Well-being(TEW), when computed in relevance to gender and marital status. Covid-19 related psychological manifestation during lockdown among India's working professionals: An online survey

Background: The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has expanded globally, causing enormous physical, psychosocial, and economical harm to individuals all over the world. COVID-19 has a significant psychological influence on the general population, according to existing literature. Aim: The study aimed to document the psychological manifestation due to COVID-19 lockdown, and evaluate the impact on working population of India. Methods: It was a cross-sectional study, using a pre-tested, designed, web-based Google Forms questionnaire, using snowball sampling to collect on socio-demographic and clinical parameters related to COVID-19 lockdown, with working professionals who were invited to participate.
