The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), an application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the medical domain, allows data to be transmitted across communication networks. In particular, IoMT can help improve the quality of life of citizens and older people by monitoring and managing the body’s vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and others. Since IoMT has become the main platform for information exchange and making high-level decisions, it is necessary to guarantee its reliability and security. The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging field consisting of Internet-based globally connected network architecture. A subset of IoT is the Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT) that consists of smart healthcare devices having significant importance in monitoring, processing, storing, and transmitting sensitive information. It is experiencing novel challenges regarding data privacy protection. This article discusses different components of IoHT and categorizes various healthcare devices based on their functionality and deployment. This article highlights the possible points and reasons for data leakage, such as conflicts in laws, the use of sub-standard devices, lack of awareness, and the non-availability of dedicated local law enforcement agencies. The drive for a virtualized physical world of no actual contact between objects and needless of human intervention in a densely sensory but heterogeneous wireless interconnectivity of animate and inanimate things is what has fueled the emergence of`Internetof`Internet of Things`Things`(IoT). It has brought humans among the computing objects. However, research has shown potential security anomalies and that raises concern for patients and health practitioners in the scheme of connected humans. This study reviews innovative IoT health services, security fundamentals, and measures. Any rush by IoT industry player to meet deadlines on production, and standardization could result in too many more flaws. Identifying prevailing security threats and adoption of security measures from the consumer node at which point successful attack could spread to the entire network of IoT should be given topmost consideration.
IRJET-Internet of Stings: Securing Healthcare Records Applying Internet of Things
— This paper investigates the role of Internet of Things(IoT) in securing Electronic Healthcare Records (EHRs). Personal health record (PHR) has emerged as a patient centric model of health information exchange. Day by day health issues and health problem concerns are increasing. So many people are facing health problems and are getting admitted in to the health care centers. So to maintain the details of all the patients in a hospital is a difficult task. Hospitals have to maintain the records of each and every inpatient. In some cases patients may even have to wait for long time to consult the doctor. Also if the concerned doctor is not available in the hospital then the nurses have to call him and ask the related queries according to the inpatients condition. A PHR service allows a patient to create, manage and control her personal health data in one place through the web, which has made the storage, retrieval and sharing of the medical information more efficient. Especially each patient is promised the full control of their medical records and can share her health data with a wide range of users, including healthcare providers, family members or friends. In this paper we provide a description of how the internet of things can be supported to ensure security for distributed health care applications. This paper would promote a lot of research in the area of application of IoT in securing PHRs.

The Internet of Things has particularly novel implications in the area of public health. This is due to (1) the rapid and widespread adoption of powerful contemporary smartphones; (2) the increasing availability and use of health and fit-ness sensors, wearable sensor patches, smartwatches, wireless-enabled digital tattoos and ambient sensors; and (3) the nature of public health to implicitly involve connectivity with and the acquisition of data in relation to large numbers of individuals up to population scale. Of particular relevance in relation to the Internet of Things (IoT) and public health is the need for privacy and anonymity of users. It should be noted that IoT capabilities are not inconsistent with maintaining privacy, due to the focus of public health on aggregate data not individual data and broad public health interventions. In addition, public health information systems utilizing IoT capabilities can be constructed to specifically ensure privacy, security and anonymity, as has been developed and evaluated in this work. In this paper we describe the particular characteristics of the IoT that can play a role in enabling emerging public health capabilities; we describe a priva-cy-preserving IoT-based public health information system architecture; and provide a privacy evaluation.

Internet of Things (IoT) promises to be a reliable technology for the future in different sectors including health. This paper uses exploratory method with an objective to review various literature on application of IoTs in e-health based on the latest publications and technologies available in the health sector. Internet of things (IoT), a modern technology, is introducing various devices and systems in the health care setting by allowing sharing of information among them in real time. This paper seeks to examine the remarkable effect that IoT has brought in the healthcare sector, especially in remote monitoring of patients, smart clothes and wearable technologies, remote consulting, and hospital administration. The main benefits of applying IoT solutions include the enhancement of the patient care, increasing efficacy and costs savings in healthcare. concerns with protection of data, issues of compatibility and issues of the law. In this article, the author has given a detailed description of IoT in healthcare encompassing the current use cases and advantages and disadvantages of IoT systems in this domain along with examples from the literature. It also brings out emerging concepts and advancement that can shape the future of IoT in health such as Artificial Intelligence, big data analysis and 5G network. Ethical and legal perimeters to IoT in the healthcare systems are also provided. Ideas on how to surmount the challenges that hinder the use of IoT have been provided in the paper before concluding by embracing IoT as a technology that holds the promise of drastically changing future systems of global health.

In addition, this paper analyzes distinct IoT security and privacy features, including security requirements, threat models, and attack taxonomies from the health care perspective. Further, this paper proposes an intelligent collaborative security model to minimize security risk; discusses how different innovations such as big data, ambient intelligence, and wearables can be leveraged in a health care context; addresses various IoT and eHealth policies and regulations across the world to determine how they can facilitate economies and societies in terms of sustainable development; and provides some avenues for future research on IoT-based health care based on a set of open issues and challenges.
