The Covid-19 virus outbreak has had a significant impact on various aspects of life. For the world of education, this impact occurs in the aspect of educational supervision as happened to the performance of supervision in the Subang sub-district, Subang district. The study aims to describe the performance of supervisors during the Covid-19 period and its impact on the quality of Islamic education learning in elementary schools in Subang district. The type of research used is qualitative with a case study approach. The data was collected by means of observation, interview, literature study, and documentation techniques. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the education sector, including the execution of academic supervision in schools. This study investigates the academic supervision in two integrated Islamic elementary schools in Bekasi, Indonesia, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method employed a qualitative research design as a case study. The methodological triangulation included interviews, academic supervision observations, and document analysis used to collect data. A total of two informants were the principals from integrated Islamic elementary schools, which were purposefully chosen based on their academic supervision expertise. Implementing academic supervision in schools has yet to be carried out optimally. Supervisors still need to follow up on the results of supervision. This research aims to analyze the problem of implementing academic supervision during the pandemic and the new normal. This type of research is qualitative. The research subjects were school principals and teachers. Data was collected through interviews, open questionnaires, FGDs, and documentation studies. This survey aims to determine the effectiveness of educational supervision in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The survey was conducted in two different locations/districts, namely in Central Lombok and East Lombok, involving 250 educators who were chosen randomly. The focus of the survey consists of three important aspects in educational supervision, namely the existence of supervision in schools, the level of attendance of supervisors and the usefulness of directions given by supervisors to educators and education staffs. The survey results concluded that supervision at schools was carried out internally and externally with varying levels of supervisor attendance to provide direction to educators and education staffs. This study aimed to explore principal leadership at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. This study employed a qualitative approach that was exploratory and naturalistic with the purpose of gaining an understanding of a phenomenon in its natural setting. Data collection was carried out by semi-structured in-depth interviews with six elementary school principals who were selected purposefully using certain criteria. The collected data were then analyzed qualitatively using grounded theory methods. The member check technique was applied to assure data credibility. The Problems and Opinions of School Administrators during COVID-19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study from Turkey

The paper aims to describe the problems faced by some school administrators during COVID-19 pandemic in different cities and to present their opinions regarding the process. As one of the qualitative research methods, phenomenology pattern was used in the research. Data of the study were collected by using the interview technique through semi-structured School Administrators Interview Form. The study group consists of 32 school administrators selected by using purposeful criterion sampling technique. As a result of the research, it is observed that school administrators evaluate the application of Education Information Network (EBA) TV and education portal, which was put into practice by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) due to COVID-19 pandemic, as a positive and urgent measure. School administrators expressed that the most common problems faced during COVID-19 pandemic are low learning motivation of students, parents' inability to create a learning environment at home, and the lack of access to live broadcasts from the EBA TV/education portal. The majority of school administrators observed that teachers were reluctant to teach in live lectures using the EBA education portal or other programs for various reasons and their motivation gradually decreased in the process. It is observed that half of the school administrators did not have an emergency action plan regarding the pandemic process, and they followed the instructions given by MoNE. School administrators stated that skills of technology leadership and crisis management are important requirements during the pandemic process.

Opinions of School Principals on the School Process in the COVID-19 Pandemic in Turkey

During the pandemic process, an education crisis emerged, and the purpose and existence of the school began to be questioned again. For this reason, in this paper, the opinions of school principals regarding the changes in the school process during the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed. The research was designed as the phenomenology design. The participants of the research consist of school principals. The data were collected by semi-structured interview technique. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that school principals had difficulties in the fields of strategic, instructional, and social leadership during the pandemic process. The important benefits of the pandemic process for the school were emphasized in the themes of school-related capacity building, social, and goal-oriented achievements.
