Management Efforts of Muhammadiyah Middle School Management in Sidoarjo in the Covid-19 Era

The assessment method used in this research is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and FGD with ten informants, namely the Head of Muhammadiyah Middle School in Sidoarjo. The data analysis technique uses three steps in collecting research results, namely data reduction (data reduction), data presentation (data display), and drawing and testing conclusions or verification. The results of this study are as follows: The school anticipates students who do not have Learning From Home (BDR) support facilities, limited internet access and financial constraints by setting up tabs provided at school, these tabs can be used by students to do assignments. This research aims to determine how the principal carried out his duties in handling covid 19 transmissions in SD Muhammadiyah Purbayan. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection techniques are carried out with interviews, observations, and literature studies. Interviews were conducted with teachers and employees of SD Muhammadiyah Purbayan Yogyakarta. Participants in this interview were selected through several criteria, including teachers and school employees directly involved by the school principal in covid-19 prevention. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government through the Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Minister of Education and Culture) instructed all educational institutions to carry out distance learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts of the Islamic Pendidikan Agama Islam teacher in implementing distance learning. The method approach used is qualitative. The results of field research indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers have difficulty implementing learning, because educational institutions are not ready to support the distance learning process. Learning is done through a social media software application, because it is easy to use and all parents of students must have it. The teacher conveys the learning content then students respond by sending the results of assignments based on Student Worksheets via social media.

This study aimed to explore principal leadership at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. This study employed a qualitative approach that was exploratory and naturalistic with the purpose of gaining an understanding of a phenomenon in its natural setting. Data collection was carried out by semi-structured in-depth interviews with six elementary school principals who were selected purposefully using certain criteria. The collected data were then analyzed qualitatively using grounded theory methods. The member check technique was applied to assure data credibility. The Effectiveness of Educational Supervision in Pandemic Era COVID-19

This survey aims to determine the effectiveness of educational supervision in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The survey was conducted in two different locations/districts, namely in Central Lombok and East Lombok, involving 250 educators who were chosen randomly. The focus of the survey consists of three important aspects in educational supervision, namely the existence of supervision in schools, the level of attendance of supervisors and the usefulness of directions given by supervisors to educators and education staffs. The survey results concluded that supervision at schools was carried out internally and externally with varying levels of supervisor attendance to provide direction to educators and education staffs. The frequency of attendance of the internal supervisor (Principal) is considered more intense (71%) than other supervisors. Valid and reliable information regarding teacher leadership behavior in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic is very important. This study aims to find a reliable research instrument on teacher leadership in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic and at the same time recommend important findings for improving teacher leadership behavior. The study began with a theoretical study to obtain content validity, continued with expert validity, readability trials, and finally distributed the instrument via online. Analysis of research data using the Rasch model with 6 tests. The research data comes from 1200 teachers in Indonesia. The findings are: (1) recommended 10 items of instruments for research on teacher leadership behavior in the era of the covid 19 pandemic, (2) recommended 4 important findings to improve the condition of teacher leadership behavior, namely: (i) reflection skill, (ii) collaboration and communication, (iii) learning technology, and (iv) learning community.

Academic Supervision in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the education sector, including the execution of academic supervision in schools. This study investigates the academic supervision in two integrated Islamic elementary schools in Bekasi, Indonesia, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method employed a qualitative research design as a case study. The methodological triangulation included interviews, academic supervision observations, and document analysis used to collect data. A total of two informants were the principals from integrated Islamic elementary schools, which were purposefully chosen based on their academic supervision expertise. A Quantitative Study on the School Performance Level of Camalig District and Its Status During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study attempted to determine the school performance level of the two public elementary school districts in Camalig, Division of Albay. Specifically, the study answered problem on the status of school performance level of Camalig Districts for the SY. 2019-2020 and SY. 2020-2021 along access, quality and governance and its significant difference; and the practices, strategies and innovations implemented by the school to improve the school performance level during the COVID-19 pandemic. The following hypothesis were tested: There is no significant difference in the level of school performance of elementary schools in Camalig North and South District during the COVID-19 Pandemic; There is no significant difference between the programs and projects implemented to improve the school performance level during the COVID-19 pandemic; There is no significant difference in the extent of practices, strategies and innovations of the schools to the school performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. There were four (4) theories anchored in this study: Management leadership theory by Leithwood et.al (1999:14), Theory of Performance by Elger (2007), Participative theory of Lamb (2013), , and the theory of Motivation by Abraham Maslow and Frederick Herzberg. The descriptivesurvey method of research was used utilizing a questionnaire checklist through google form in data gathering. There were 21 school heads as respondents from the 33 public elementary schools in Camalig North and South District in the Division of Albay. The percentage, weighted mean and t-test were used as statistical tools. Findings revealed the following: Based on the school head responses 100% of them implemented the Distance Learning Modality with the provision of 1:1 pupil ratio for the modules/LAS, 71.42% conducted home visitation during the COVID-19 pandemic, 76.19% says to maintain the good rapport to parents, teachers and stakeholders, while transparency, resiliency, responsive and resourcefulness were 80.95%. and 90.47% answered constant follow-up to pupils reading ability and close monitoring of pupils and teachers' activities with regards to school activities these are the strategies and innovations they have practiced to maintain and improve the school performance despite the COVID-19 Pandemic. Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn; that in order to maintain the good performance of the school despite the COVID-19 pandemic they adapted the Distance Learning Modality as DepEd mandated, provided pupils the 1:1 ratio of modules/LAS in all learning areas, home visitation to track the progress of learners, being resourceful, transparent and responsive to the needs of the school, and maintain a good rapport and open communication to stakeholders to realize the Programs and Projects (PAPs). Based on the findings and in light with the conclusions, the researcher recommends the following: 1.) Regular school monitoring and supervision from the district supervisors for the sustainability of the strategies being practiced by the school head; 2.) Supervisor`s will provide technical assistance (TA) to those schools who are struggling when it comes to achieving a better school performance. 3.) School heads can benchmark to other performing schools the strategies and innovations that they may adapt on their station to achieve the school performance they wanted.
