Epistemic properties of a man constitute the base for change. So far little attention has been paid to those properties in semantics. Questions of epistemic factors, which influ- ence the formation of specialised neologisms, have not been posed. The keynote of this article is the attempt to answer this question. To achieve this goal, I attempt to explain such expressions as ‚neo’, ‚epistemic’ and ‚specialised neologism’. Then I proceed with the presentation of the results of the analysis of an interview. The subject of the inter- view is the Polish neologism ‚auleta’, created by Maciej Kaziński during his work an the translation of John Landes’ Music in Ancient Greece and Rome.

Kognitiv und/oder epistemisch? Auf dem Weg zur epistemologischen Semantik
When embarking on a journey towards the constitution of epistemological semantics one needs to describe clearly the key term ’epistemic’ and differentiate between this term and the term ’cognitive’, which has been used so far, but has in time become ambiguous. The author of this article does not present the history of using these terms. Instead he undertakes to clarify the term ’epistemic’ in order to enable himself to operate on problems linked with making epistemo- logical semantics legitimate, including the problem of using specialized neologisms.

By way of this article the author seeks to construe epistemological semantics. To this end the author presents his arguments in several aspects as regards a) concepts, b) terms, c) sub- ject matter, d) methods and e) analysis of expressions excerpted from texts. The author’s concept is based on hypotheses employed in anthropocentric linguistics and frame semantics. One of the building blocks of epistemological semantics is constituted by so called epistemic formants of knowledge, understood as the foundation of epistemic experience, as the base for the frames of epistemic knowledge, and hence also as the framework for the constitution of meanings and expressions formed by an individual. As important seem a strict delimitation of the subject area of epistemological semantics and the defining of resultant tasks to be undertaken by linguists. It transpires that both the subject area and the resultant tasks have up till now been restricted almost exclusively to ‘meaning’, without clear reference to the underlying cognitive acts. Methods of the work are rooted in idiocentric (individual) and polycentric (common) approaches known in linguistics. The results of the empirical analysis have been presented and exemplified by a selected specialised neologism from the field of music of Ancient Greece

ZUR TYPOLOGIE DER KONNOTATIONEN AUS DER SICHT DER EPISTEMOLOGISCH PROFILIERTEN SEMANTIK
The present article is the result of scientific thought based on empirical studies of connotation. The author offers key antitheses, which he subjects to verification in order to ensure clarity of his position on the problem. The critique of the mainstream understanding of connotations con- cerns mainly misinterpretation of the formal and ontological status of the connotation proper. The constitution of connotation, as seen from the perspective of the epistemological semantics, must be derived from epistemic experience regarded as the main point of reference. It is the epistemic formants of knowledge that pose the foundation of epistemic experience. These formants enable one to follow cognitive processes and consequently to understand how the idiolectal expressions and idiolectal meanings are being formed. The typology offered has been made on the basis of empirical studies of connotation. This typology is to be understood as the typology of epistemic formants of knowledge that plays a part in the constitution of connotation, rather then the typology of different kinds and/or types of connotation, as has been the case until now.

Diesem heutzutage viel diskutierten Zusammenhang von Fachsprachen(vermittlung), (akademischer) Ausbildung von Germanistikstudierenden und deren Karrierechancen im außerschulischen Bereich widmet sich die vorliegende Monographie, die als 2. Band der Reihe SPECLANG die interessierten Leser/-innen erreichen soll (1. Band, vgl. Stawikowska-Marcinkowska 2016) 1. Die thematische Vielfalt ist breit: von der Fachsprachen-, Übersetzungsforschung und Lexikographie über Didaktik/Methodik des Fremdsprachen-/Fachsprachenunterrichts bis hin zur Reflexion über die Konsequenzen der aktuellen Marktanforderungen für das Fach Germanistik polenweit. Mit dem regen Gedankenaustausch durch die einzelnen Beiträge wird ein Anstoß zur weiteren, vertieften Diskussion über den fach-/berufsbezogenen Fremdsprachenunterricht im universitären Bereich und somit zu dessen effizienter Gestaltung erhofft.
