to promote teaching, learning and research activities. This paper is an attempt to understand and evaluate the use library facility and resources among research scholar in GGU, further examines in detail access and awareness, the predominant use of information resources and identify the barriers in use of library facilities and resources by research scholars. Survey method was follow to collect data. A total of 140 structured questionnaires were distributed to users and out of which 116 questionnaires were duly obtained with a response rate of 82.85%. A stratified accidental random sample method was used for selection of respondents. In this paper we found that majority of respondents 31.03% visit the library daily and 29.31% respondents visit the library once in a week, 65.52% e-journals are frequently used by research scholar and also 67.24 % of the research scholar expressed that the library has updated books are not available. It seems that library should subscribe a number of e-resources, such as e-journals, online databases, and print journals to fulfill the demand of the research scholars in their area of interest.
Use of Library Resources and Services by Karnatak University Research Scholars: A case Study

Major aim of any university library is to support teaching, learning and research activities of its parent institutions, university library must therefore make sure that their resources are fine use of by its users. The study has been conducted to know the available information sources in the Karnataka university library and its usage pattern among the research scholars in different faculties in several Departments of the University. The study shows that how the usage of the information resources changing from print to e-resources and more users are eager to use electronic resources. For this study hypothesis was set and various statistical methods like chi-square test, etc., were used.

The purpose of the study was to investigate research scholars (RS) and faculty members (FM) involvement in use of library, library resources, purpose behind using them and satisfaction from the resources in five university libraries of Northern India. The representative samples were selected based on sample size given by Krejcie and Morgan (1970). The representative sample was formed by taking 15% of respondents from each category from each university. The 'Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling Technique' was used. The data collected was analyzed with the help of statistical software package called SPSS and hypotheses were tested using Chi-Square test. The study was limited to five universities libraries of Northern India. No significant relationship was found in frequency of visit to the library between the research scholars (RS) and faculty members (RM) across the libraries. This research study state the various aspects relating to information needs, information seeking behaviour and use of electronic resources by research scholars and faculties in the university and research libraries of Odisha. The data were collected from faculties and research scholars of 9 traditional universities and 3 research institutions. A total of 600 questionnaires were distributed randomly in the different departments of universities and research institutions, as well as among the users who visited the library, over a period of eight months during the January to August of the year 2014. Out of 600 questionnaires, 464 questionnaires duly filled up were returned to the researchers resulting to 77.33% response rate. The data collected were properly analysed with different statistical tools and at the end findings have been incorporated. Questionnaire method was employed to gather data from researchers of humanities, social science and science disciplines in six universities in Karnataka. Responses received from 845 research scholars shows that in general the research scholars prefer print resources and there exists significant differences in the preference of print and electronic resources among various disciplines. Identifies the gaps in the need and availability of electronic resources like online journals and databases in the university libraries. Reveals that the electronic resources have created a positive hope among the research community in searching the information.

This study aims to determine how well CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow research scholars are aware of and use library resources and services. A sample size of 70 Research Scholars was randomly chosen for the study. A well-structured questionnaire was designed and handed to the Researchers of CSIR-CDRI, out of 70 distributed questionnaires, of which 50 responses were received. The majority of those surveyed use the library weekly, and their mode of access to the Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC Library) is through Library visit / Intranet. It was also noted that 74% of the users mostly used Library Resources for Research purposes and 62% users for updating knowledge, and 70% of users used e-journals very frequently. A result shows that most respondents are highly aware of Library Resources, such as e-journals, books, a bound volume of journals, and Reprographic services, 52%, provided by the library. Use of Library and Information Sources by University Students of North India: An Analysis

A library is the memory of mankind and a critical link between the present and the future generation of users. The present study is based on a student's survey of seven leading universities of north India. The 500 student's data is collected with the help of a questionnaire. The results show that students consult library catalogue, search engines, and library catalogue, respectively to find information. In searching for the needed information, students follow title, subject and author approach, respectively. Library, the Internet, reference books and text books are used by both categories of students in order of preference to get the required information

The purpose of this study is to investigate the awareness and use of library resources and services among the research scholars and post graduate students. The objectives of the study are to know the awareness about library resources and services and to investigate the use of library resources, facilities and services. The study also highlights the various types of library resources and services used by the respondents. The study describes that the university library is providing both types of printed and electronic resources to the users. Moreover the study shows the various information searching techniques used by the respondents. The findings of the study show that majority of the respondents have adequate knowledge to use the library resources and services and large number of respondents accesses the electronic resources and services from the university library. Various types of problems and suggestions have been given by the users.

The Internet is becoming more widely used by academic institutions to support the teaching, learning and research activities of faculty members and research scholars. The main aim of this study is to examine the impact of Internet on the users in university libraries of Karnataka State. The present study demonstrates and elaborates the various aspects of internet use, such as frequency of Internet use, place of access, purposes for Internet access, motivating factors to access Internet and most preferred search engines. It was found from the survey that the Internet has become a vital instrument for teaching, research and learning process of these respondents. Some suggestions have been given to make the service more beneficial for the faculty members and research scholars of the university libraries of Karnataka state under study.
