Personality Traits and Decision Regret- A study on Managerial Level
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore and identify the five-factor model of manager’s personality (FFM) and their contribution towards post decision reaction- Decision Regret. Focus is on which type of personalities mostly experience decision regret and what will be the effect of job stress on this result. Design/methodology/approach – A survey questionnaire that incorporated measures of Personality, job stress and decision regret was completed by 200 respondents. Respondents were Managers in private and public organizations i.e. Banks, Universities, Construction Organizations etc, to check manager’s post decision reaction and their personality type. The data is collected from different fields. Regression analysis was used to explore the hypothesis. Findings – The paper finds that managers personality do not affect the decisions of managers but the moderaotor i.e. job stress contribute mainly in experiencing the decision regret Research limitations/implications – The study design was for managerial level under job stress. Therefore, this research can be applied on group and team level under different situational factors. Practical implications – The findings provide further support on the significance of manager’s personality measures and traits that contributes in post decision reaction under the effect of job stress. MANAGERS' PERSONALITY TRAITS OVER MANAGEMENT STYLES AND DECISION-MAKING STYLES
The paper seeks to offer a contribution to the extent literature on the role of managers' personality characteristics over management styles and decision-making styles. We have prepared a questionnaire which consists of Girgin's (2007) personality scale adaptation from Goldberg (1992), Kurban's (2015) decision-making scale adopted from Scott and Bruce (1995), and Yıldızhan's (2012) management style scale. The questionnaire is conducted among managers and employees in various sectors in Istanbul via the single random sampling method. Frequency analysis is applied to descriptive findings. In order to determine reliability and validity of the scales, reliability and factor analysis are performed. We have focused on investigating the impact of managers' personality traits on management styles and decision-making styles by applying the Multivariate Regression Model and Correlation Analysis. The result of the factor analysis revealed that the three dimensions (extraversion, neuroticism, conscientiousness) of big-five personality traits have a significant effect on some dimensions of managers' decision making and management styles.

The Role of Phenotypic Personality Traits as Dimensions of Decision-making Styles

Each individual has unique personality traits which affect decision-making process. Those traits are defined as cautiousness, openness to experience, decision difficulty, agency, emotion neutrality, goal orientation, intuitive awareness, plan orientation, pro-activity, and rationality.The study aimed to show how established personality traits as dimensions of decision-making can be used to classify four distinct decision-making styles. The personality styles are defined as avoidant, designer, flexible, and auditor styles.A global survey was conducted to gather information on individual decision-making styles. Dispositional factors play a vital role in decision making styles. Some personality theorists considered decision making as an integral part of the personality. The famous personality psychologist Carl Jung is one of the early scholars whose theory on psychological types provided precious basis for scientific work on decision making styles. Jung (1976) claimed that humans problem solving is based on four functions including sensing, thinking, feeling, and intuition. Conceptual Bases of Researching the Issue of Making Decisions by a Personality

The paper aims to systematize and structure the approaches, concepts and theories of decision-making in psychology; define the principles of studying the choice of a personality; develop the psychological system of decision-making by a personality. The review of psycho-pedagogical, socio-philosophical and economic literature has made it possible to identify the approaches to the study of the phenomenon of "decision-making", its structure, mechanisms and factors that determine its effectiveness. The main ones are the following: strategic and style, normative approach, cognitive and target, regulatory and volitional, system and structural and subject and activity, providing the appropriate projection of the problem of choice of the personality. The insufficient development of the issue studied can be overcome by a deeper examination of the specifics of life decisions made by the personality. It seems productive to shift the focus of scientific interest from studying decision-making in the context of the activity to be performed to the personal context where the personality making life decisions becomes the object of research as well as the configuration of the psychological system, describing the features of the choice. The life decision is determinative at all stages of human existence, provides a constructive way out of various life situations, the formation and realization of the life path of the individual as a whole. The psychological system of making life decisions reflects the integrity of the personality which is formed by interrelated and complexly organized functional blocks and components. The structure of the properties forming the components of the system has a clearly expressed and stable character, retaining its characteristics within the type of life decision being made. Decisiveness is considered to be an integral characteristic of the personality, the ability to make mature life decisions easily and independently, selectively using personal resources.
Decision-Making Styles and Personality Traits

The objective of this study is to examine the relations decision-making styles and personality traits among a group of university students. The study group consists of 312 participants who are students of the public university. Our study was based on voluntary participation. 57% of participants were female and 43% participants were male. The mean age was 21.09±1.79 (mean±SD) years. 76% of participations said that they are responsible for the events that happen to them. Results showed that the rational style and intuitive style were significantly associated with four of personality traits, except neuroticism. The dependent style had a positive relation with agreeableness and neuroticism. The avoidant style had negative relation with extraversion, conscientiousness, and openness. The Personality Factor: How Top Management Teams Make Decisions. A Literature Review
Past research has increasingly suggested that CEO/TMT personality can play a relevant role in influencing various external (e.g. firm performance) and internal (e.g. firm organizational structure) management outcomes. These promising results need appropriate systematization and discussion, which we aim at providing through a literature review based on rigorous inclusion/exclusion criteria. Our analysis shows great heterogeneity in regard to both the personality traits and the personality based management outcomes explored by the investigated population of studies. Thus, we specifically use the framework provided by the Five-Factor Model (FFM) of personality to codify the publications and this framework allows us to identify some possible theoretical trajectories. These trajectories mainly regard the empirical testing of the highlighted associations between CEO emotional stability, extraversion and conscientiousness with bureaucratization, strategic pro-activity and firm performance. Our article is primarily intended for those scholars and practitioners who want to improve their knowledge about psychology-based decision making and behavioural corporate governance through the understanding of how CEO/TMT personality can affect their strategic decisions.
The Effect of School Managers' Five-Factor Personality Traits on Decision-Making Processes

This study investigates the effects of the five-factor personality traits (FFPTs) of school administrators on decision-making processes. The research was conducted using one of the quantitative research approaches, the relational survey model. The research sample comprised 363 managers working in Istanbul during the academic year of 2020-2021, of which 133 were female, and 230 were male. Five-Factor Personality Traits Scale and Melbourne Decision-making Scale were used as data collection tools. Neuroticism, one of the subdimensions of the Big Five Inventory, was found to negatively influence self-esteem in decision-making, whereas extroversion, conscientiousness, openness, and agreeableness positively influenced self-esteem in giving. Neuroticism, one of the sub-dimensions of the Big Five Inventory, positively influenced attentive, avoidant, delaying, and frightened decisionmaking styles. In contrast, extroversion, conscientiousness, openness, and agreeableness negatively influenced these decision-making styles.
