In the recent years, there was an increasing demand for discovering antiviral agents from medicinal plants having high activity and economically cheap. The medicinal plants have become very important because they have a main importance for determination, isolation and purification of natural chemical compounds in order to use them in many medicinal application. The scientific researches proved that plants extracts have antiviral activity against corona virus . The explanation of this activity belongs to presence of active chemical compounds act to stop the viruses in living body by multi different mechanisms. This review will provide an overview about the perspective of used some various medicinal plants against corona virus as antiviral drug and compared with antibiotics to reduce/prevent corona virus risk. The Potentials of Medicinal Plants in the Treatment of Covid-19 Patients: A Review

COVID-19 pandemic (corona virus disease 2019 is a life threatening SARS-Cov-19 severe acute respiratory syndrome virus 2) situation that was declared a public health emergency by WHO in early 2020. Today’s primary emphasis is on the treatment of COVID-19 yet the specific mode of action of antiviral agents being employed must be identified. At present, the human on risk are being vaccinated but there is no clear anti-COVID 19 medicine. This study focuses on herbal approaches as a potential alternative therapy for COVID-19, based on medicinal plants. Some herbs are well-known in different traditional medicines for prevention, cure and recovery of the diseases like COVID-19. Mostly the plant’s herbal extract inhibits viral replication; however several studies have shown that conventional herbal extracts may interact with important viral proteins associated with the virulence. The update on traditional medicines suggested for the prevention of COVID-19 has been analyzed here.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak was first reported in Wuhan, a city in Hubei Province of China in December, 2019 and is known to be responsible for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March, 2020 and since then, it has caused a number of deaths in over 200 countries around the world. Extensive researches have continued in the search of effective vaccines or drug compounds against SARS-CoV-2 and a total of 64 vaccines are currently in clinical trials with 12 currently approved for use by different regulatory bodies, depending on the country. A Possible Role of Medicinal Plants in finding a Cure for Covid-19

Since the outbreak, COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) has affected more than 24 million people. COVID-19 pandemic appears to lack any effective antiviral drug or vaccine therapy. Previously, it has been reported that medicinal plants are effective against pneumonia caused by coronavirus (SARS-CoV). Secondary metabolites derived from medicinal plants also play pivotal role in strengthening the immune system as well as the killing of pathogens or viruses. The present review summarized the medicinal plants and their secondary metabolites that have antiviral potentials. Further studies are required to evaluate these medicinal plants and their secondary metabolites for possible treatment of COVID-19.
