Cross-Sectional Study: Knowledge, Awareness, and Attitude Regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Infection Control and Prevention among Students and Staff in Alghad College in JEDDAH

Awareness of an individual's knowledge and being able to predict his or her behavior is crucial when evaluating participants for pandemics with a highly pathogenic virus. This study aimed to identify and assess Knowledge, Awareness, and Attitude Regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Infection Control and Prevention among Students and Staff in Alghad College in JEDDAH from 3 rd March 2020to 20 April 2020. About 90 participants students and academic staff selected randomly with different ages between (20-45 years old) fill out the questionnaire forms, a Results: the females were more than male, 67.8% of the sample were females (32.2%) were male. The students were 63.3%while the academic staff was 36.7%. The percentage of awareness about the procedure of Hand hygiene was 96.6% with significant (p = 0.001). , stay home can reduce the spread of COVID-19 were93.3%, degree of participant awareness of precautions and infection control among COVID-19 were 81.1% and Avoid crowding, using sterilizer, and using facemask taken great and high percentage,67.8%,78.9%, and 57.8% respectively. Concerning attitude, more than 90% of students and staff exhibited a positive attitude toward COVID-19.

Knowledge and Practice towards COVID-19 among Students of Al-Bayan University

Introduction: On 12 March 2020, world health organization (WHO) declared that COVID-19 was a global pandemic when more than million humans were infected in more than 200 countries in less than four months. To limit its spread, WHO recommended preventive measures such as hand washing frequently, social distancing, and face mask wearing. Public knowledge and practice towards the disease is important. Aim of study: We assess the level of knowledge and practices towards COVID-19 among students in Al-Bayan University. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted to gather information regarding the COVID-19 related knowledge and practices among undergraduates. This survey was conducted between October 10 till October 15,2020. Results:351 students were participated from medical and non-medical colleges by completing the questionnaire online. The overall correct answer rate of the knowledge questionnaire was 85.71% and 86.22% of them practicing preventive measures according to WHO guidelines and instructions of ministry of health(MOH). There were no significant differences in knowledge and practices between medical and non-medical. Conclusion: The students have moderate knowledge and appropriate practices towards COVID-19, this indicates the success and the efficacy of the of campaigns and the advertisements announced by WHO and the local MOH.

Assessment of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Concerning COVID-19 Among Undergraduate Students of Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at King Khalid University, Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: A Cross-Sectional Surveyed Study

Background and Objective: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has exerted great efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This research aims to scrutinize the outlook, awareness, and customs of Saudi undergraduate students regarding COVID-19. Methods: The current cross-sectional study comprises 178 undergraduate students in the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences. The data were collected from online Google form questionnaires. The differences were picked out of the questionnaires, and the mean scores of the differences were duly assessed. The variables associated with knowledge, attitude, and practice toward COVID-19 were evaluated; moreover, a comparative study was conducted on these variables in different faculty departments. ANOVA, Student's t-test, and binary logistic regression analysis were used to assess the data on knowledge, attitude, and practice. Results: Most of the undergraduate students were well acquainted with COVID-19. We obtained the mean knowledge score for COVID-19 to be 3.08 ± .82 (range: 1-5), indicating good knowledge. The attitude means the score was 3.02 ± .61 (range: 0-4), implying good positive attitudes. On assessing the mean score of practices, it was found 5 ± .47 (range: 0-7), pointing towards perfect practices. There were no significant differences between males and females regarding knowledge, attitudes, and practice toward COVID-19 (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: Students of Applied Medical Sciences are knowledgeable about COVID-19. Health education programs should be focused on protection and safety from COVID-19 for Applied Medical Sciences students, especially Medical Rehabilitation Sciences and Radiology. Hand hygiene awareness programs must be conducted for undergraduate students. Infection control should be part of the undergraduate applied for medical sciences curriculum program.

Knowledge, attitude, and practices associated with COVID-19 among university students: a cross-sectional survey in Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a rapidly expanding pandemic caused by a novel human coronavirus. As the outbreak has impacted all stakeholders in the education sector, including university students, it is believed that to facilitate the outbreak management of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia, this study was aimed to understand the public's awareness of COVID-19. In this study, we aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practices associated with COVID-19 among Qassim University students during the period of the COVID-19 outbreak. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a validated questionnaire and involving students from various health specialties enrolled at Qassim University in Saudi Arabia. The sample size was 303 students (209 males and 94 females). Age varied from 18 to 28 years old, but most (74.9%) were aged between 21 and 24 years old. Results: Regarding participants' knowledge about COVID-19, the total mean score was 4.33 (SD = 0.77) out of 5 points, indicating that most of the students (85.8%) had good knowledge. Concerning attitude toward COVID-19, the total mean score was 3.35 (SD = 1.09), which means that participants were approximately divided in half between the positive and negative attitudes. Concerning practices, the mean score was 3.52 (SD = 0.96), with 44.6% and 55.4% compromising inactive and proactive approaches, respectively. Conclusion: The outcome of this cross-sectional study shows that most of the Qassim University students belonging to different medical fields were well informed of basic information and has positive attitudes, and proactive practices toward COVID-19, indicating the efficacy of the current public health campaign.

Survey of knowledge and attitude of students of Abadan University of Medical Sciences to "COVID -19"

Introduction: ”COVID-19” is a dangerous viral disease that has recently become a pandemic. In the meantime, the knowledge and attitude of medical students in caring for patients are very important. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of Abadan medical students about the “ COVID-19 “ disease. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on medical students (n = 255) in 2020-2021 using the convenience sampling method. Data was collected using a personal information questionnaire and a researcher-made questionnaire of knowledge and attitude related to the disease. The total score of students ‘knowledge about “ COVID-19” disease was between 0 and 33, where 0 means minimum knowledge and 33 means between 16 and 80. After confirming the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, the online questionnaire was completed by individuals. Results: The results showed that the mean and standard deviation of knowledge scores and students’ attitudes toward “COVID-19” disease were 13.42 ±2.69 and 22.27 ±3.9, respectively. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between attitude and demographic characteristics. There was a significant relationship between students ‘knowledge score and field of study (P= 0.001) but there was no significant relationship between students’ knowledge score and gender and marital status. Conclusion: Medical students have an acceptable knowledge and attitude toward “COVID-19”. On the other hand, our information about “COVID-19” disease is increasing every day. Therefore, the educational authorities of medical universities should design and implement programs to increase the awareness and attitude of students toward “COVID-19”.

Knowledge, Attitude, and Perception of COVID-19 among University Students: A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective: This study aimed to assess the level of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) knowledge and attitude among university students. Design: A cross-sectional was conducted to collect the knowledge and attitude of university students about COVID-19. Currently registered undergraduate and postgraduate students from four independent universities in the northern part of Jordan were recruited. Introduction: Knowledge of COVID-19 and the practices towards the prevention of COVID-19 are crucial especially among health sciences students who are required to do a clinical placement at a hospital. This study aimed to assess the knowledge on COVID-19 and practice of COVID-19 prevention among university students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted via a web-based survey. A total of 273 students of the medical, dental and health sciences programs were invited to participate in this study using stratified random sampling methods. Practices, Attitudes and Knowledge of COVID-19 among the University Students of LCWU, Lahore

The primary goal of this study was to analyze COVID-19-related knowledge, attitudes, and practices among Lahore College for Women University students (LCWU). Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among LCWU students. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and processed using a Google Form. The data was analyzed statistically. Results: The total number of responses received was 114. According to our research, 98 percent of respondents were familiar with COVID-19, with 51.8 percent receiving information via social media. 68.4 percent thought the virus was contagious, 95.60 percent thought it was spread by respiratory droplets, and 24.8 percent thought the elderly and children were at risk. 93.9 percent of participants were aware of social/physical distancing and believed that it could help to prevent infection, 95.5 percent believed that cough and fever could be signs and symptoms of COVID-19, and 106 (93 percent) claimed that staying at home could help to prevent the disease from spreading. Conclusion: It was observed that the majority of individuals were aware of COVID-19, with 90% of the population knowing about it. There is an ever-increasing need for COVID-19 knowledge among the local populace. It will assist in the prevention of COVID-19 transfer with minimal secondary transmission. Extensive survey studies are needed to offer supporting evidence in the development and implementation of public health policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It would help to regulate and stop the spread of COVID-19 across the country.

A Questionnaire-Based Cross-Sectional Survey of Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices toward COVID-19 among Students and Staff in Asir, Saudi Arabia during the Second Wave of the Pandemic

Being in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals’ perceptions change on a daily basis, and this starts to inform the status of knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) during the second wave of the pandemic. Aim: To assess the KAP on COVID-19 among students, teaching staff, and administrative staff in the Asir region for the first time. Methods: A questionnaire-based survey cross-sectional study was conducted from 10 February to 10 March 2021 using an online questionnaire.
