Nurses play a role in providing nursing care which include spiritual care. Spiritual care can provide inner peace and bring new hope for patients who need it. Nursing students are the initiators who will later become nurses. This study aimed to identify the correlation between spirituality and implementation of spiritual care among nursing students in program profession.This study used a cross sectional design with a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study involved 208 nursing student in profession programmed from 3 university in Jakarta. The spirituality and spiritual care of clinical nurses in Indonesia

This study aimed to investigate associated factors of spirituality and spiritual care in clinical nurses in Indonesia. Cross-sectional descriptive and correlational research designs were used in this study. Purposive sampling was applied among 204 participants in private hospitals, Medan and Bandung, Indonesia. The questionnaires consisted of demographic and characteristics information and the spirituality and spiritual care rating scale (SSCRS). Mann Whitney test was used to investigate associated factors of spirituality and spiritual care in clinical nurses in Indonesia. This study found that there was statistically significant between department with spirituality (p=0.017), receiving spiritual care lessons during nurse training with spiritual care (p=0.032), and receiving spiritual care lessons during nurse training (p=0.013) and educational background with nurses" perception of spirituality and spiritual care (p=0.040). Receiving spiritual care lessons during nurse training, and educational background were statistically significant with spirituality and spiritual care in clinical nurses in Indonesia. The findings of this study provide information for clinical nurses and generally of nurses to understand the perception of spirituality and spiritual care in hospital for care patient in a hospital in Indonesia. It is also suggested that appropriate strategies to improve knowledge and perception of spirituality and spiritual care should be developed shortly.
Nursing students’ spiritual well-being, spirituality and spiritual care

Background: Spiritual care should be considered an important part of holistic and multidisciplinary care and it has not been given much importance so far. We should begin with student nurses, who will soon be clinicians, to fi nd out about potentiality of the nursing profession to put spiritual care into practice. Little has been known about spiritual well-being, spirituality, and spiritual care perspectives among nursing students. In this study, a comparison has been made in spiritual well-being, spirituality, and spiritual care perspectives between the fi rst and fourth year baccalaureate nursing students. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive-comparative study that was carried out among 283 nursing students. All the students were Iranians studying in the universities of Iran, Tehran, and Shahid Beheshti medical sciences. They volunteered to participate in the study. There were 105 fi rst year students and 178 fourth year students. The questionnaires used were on Spiritual Well-being (SWB) Scale, Spiritual Perspective Scale (SPS), and Nursing Spiritual Care Perspective Scale (NSCPS). The statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS software, version 10. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (distribution frequency, mean, and standard deviation). Mann-Whitney test was to compare each item and independent t-test to compare the mean values of two groups. Results: Regarding spiritual well-being, there were no signifi cant differences between the two groups. 98.8% of the fi rst year students and 100% of the fourth year students were in the category of moderate spiritual well-being. Neither were there any signifi cant differences between the two groups in spiritual perspective and spiritual care perspectives. Conclusions: The scores of fourth year nursing students were similar to those of fi rst year students in spiritual well-being, spirituality, and spiritual care perspectives, though the fourth year students had already undergone 4-year nursing course. Including spiritual care in the curriculum of nursing students' courses will add to their understanding and provision of spiritual care. This will fi ll the present gap evident in the system in Iran. At present, the educational system here does not make use of spiritual care as part of its comprehensive curriculum.

This research focuses on describing the implementation of Islamic spiritual care of the clinical nursing students at the State Islamic University (UIN). The implementation of Islamic spiritual care has not been done well by nurses. Clinical nursing students are the forerunners of nurses, but no one has examined the description of the application of Islamic spiritual care carried out by clinical nursing students in State Islamic University (UIN). This research method was descriptive quantitative. Samples were students of the clinical nursing students of UIN Jakarta and UIN Alauddin Makassar, 40 respondents. The results showed that most respondents applied Islamic spiritual care well (52.5%). The most well-implemented component is instilling optimism for healing that comes from God (60%). The aim of this research was to determine Turkish nursing students' knowledge, practices and perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care and to investigate the relationship between their perceptions and their demographics. This study was a descriptive survey conducted at a nursing school providing degree-level education in the city of Manisa, in the western part of Turkey. The sample of the study consisted of the 400 nursing students. A nursing student sociodemographic form, a form on nursing students' knowledge and practices of spirituality and spiritual care, and the Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale were used to collect the data. Half of the students could meet patients' or individuals' spiritual needs, and the spiritual care that they gave was most frequently listening, empathy, and psychological support. The research findings were that nursing students' perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care were "sufficiently" although not "very sufficiently" defined. Being female, being in the second year of education and seeing spiritual care education as necessary were determinants of their perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care.

Spiritual care is one of the basic principles of nursing practice that addresses the spiritual needs of patients. According to the World Health Organization, this dimension has been negle cted. This study was conducted in 2016 to evaluate the correlation between spiritual care Competences of nurses working in Shafa hospital of Ahvaz with their quality of working life.The research type was descriptive and co relational. Population of study includes all nurses working in the Shafa hospital of Ahvaz. One hundred nurses who had the criteria for the study were selected by convenience sampling. These nurses have answered the demographic questionnaire, the spiritual care Competence questionnaire and the quality of working life questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS22 software and descriptive statistics and inferential statistics such as Pearson correlation and multiple regressions.The results showed that there is a signifi cant positive correlation between the spiritual care with quality of working life of nurses (p=0.02), being professional (p=0.02), personal support (p=0.001), referral to specialists (p=0.02), attitude to patient's religious spirits (p=0.02) and relationships (p=0.01). The results of regression analysis indicated that the variable of personal support can signifi cantly anticipate the quality of working life of nurses. (p=0.001). Based on the results of this study, the relationship between spiritual well-being and quality of work life in nurses, especially the role of later personal support as a predictor of quality of working life, and its positive impact on improving patient care services and, consequently, patient's satisfaction of care, it is recommended that relevant authorities in macro planning to motivate and improve the quality of life of personnel on the merits of spiritual care and special attention support.
Nursing Students’ Perceptions of Spirituality and Spiritual Care; An Example of Turkey

This descriptive survey study aimed to explore how nursing students perceive spirituality/spiritual care and investigate the variables acting on their perception. Data were collected using the Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale with 500 students from the Faculty of Nursing. The students' median score regarding their perception of spirituality and spiritual care indicates a ''conceptual confusion'' related with these concepts. Female students have higher scale scores than male students (z = 2.19, p \ 0.05). Students' awareness of spirituality and related concepts, and their acquisition of spiritual care skills will allow them to provide spiritual care after graduation.
Perception Status of Nursing Department Students in Terms of Spirituality and Spiritual Care

Purpose: The study was conducted to examine the spirituality and spiritual care perceptions of nursing department students. Methods: The study was conducted in descriptive design with nursing students at a state university. Permission was obtained from the ethics committee, the institution, and the students before the study. The universe of the study consisted of all nursing students studying at the faculty, and the sample consisted of a total of 500 students who were willing to participate in the study. The data were collected with a questionnaire and with the Spirituality and Spiritual Care Detection Scale. The scores received from this scale were between 17 and 85, and high total scores suggest that the spirituality and spiritual care detection scale level is “good.” The data obtained in the study were evaluated with the Student t, one-way ANOVA, and Mann-Whitney U test.
