Students' Attitudes in Science Learning: Comparison Between Public and Private Junior High Schools

Students' negative attitude is a problem that interferes with the science learning process in public and private schools. Students' negative attitude in learning science is a complex problem to solve. The negative attitude shown is that students are disobedient when given assignments and dislike them. It will have an impact on low student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine students' attitudes towards science subjects by comparing private and public schools. The type of research used is a descriptive mixed method. Learners' Attitudes and Performance in Science Subjects in A-Level in Secondary Schools

This research study aimed at investigating the learners' attitudes and performance in science. The main objective of the study was to establish the relationship between learner's attitudes and performance in science subjects based on age and gender. Cross-sectional research design was adopted for the study. Schools were randomly drawn from Mbarara district in Uganda. This gave a sample size of 300 form five and six secondary students. A questionnaire was used in collecting data for the study. The data was analyzed using SPSS to generate Pearson's Chi Square test, Spearman Rank Correlation and bivariate to test the hypotheses of the study. The findings of the study revealed that attitude, age and gender had significant relationship with students' performance in science subjects. Therefore, students' attitudes should be very central to teachers, because affective dispositions are powerful predictors of students' performance

A study analysis of student attitude to science lessons

An attitude is a form of one's perception of an object that is described with expressions of like or not. The purpose of the study was to describe the attitudes of students towards the three indicators of the attitude of the junior high school in Batanghari. The research method uses quantitative survey research. The instrument used was a questionnaire that focused on three indicators consisting of 18 statements and also interviews. The sample in this study was 280 students in Batanghari. The results of research on three attitude indicators which became the dominant focus of research in the good category. The Social Implications of the Science show a good category with a percentage of 57.9%. The pleasure of science learning is well categorized with a percentage of 45.4%. The attitude towards the science investigation is categorized sufficiently with the percentage category of 41.1%. From the research that has been carried out, it can be seen that the attitude of students in junior high school is categorized as good, because the three indicators examined show good categories.

Attitudes toward science have received substantive research, mainly because they influence students’ science learning and their participation in science. This study was designed to determine the students’ attitude towards science with the implementation of spiral progression approach in relation to students’ achievement. Secondary School Students' Predictors of Science Attitudes

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that affect the secondary school students' attitudes in science. This study was conducted using survey method. The sample of the study was 503 students from four different secondary schools in Bartın and Düzce. Data were obtained using the Survey of Factors Affecting Students' Science Attitudes (SFASSA) and the Survey to Determine the Degree of Importance of Categories Affecting Students' Science Attitudes (SDDICASSA). Comparison of student attitudes towards natural sciences

The attitude of students during the learning process is essential to be known by an educator to understand how to deal with students in the class. This study aims to determine how students 'attitudes towards science subjects and this study also aim to determine whether there is a comparison of students' attitudes towards natural science subjects in junior high schools in Indonesia. This research was conducted at some state junior high schools in Jambi. Specifically, the research sites were Junior High School 5, Junior High School 6, and Junior High School 26 in Jambi. The research design used in this study was a quantitative approach with survey methods. The research instrument was a science attitude questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that students' attitudes toward science subjects based on indicators of adoption of scientific attitudes, fun in learning science, and interest in increasing the time to study science were in good categories and also there are significant differences of students' attitude towards science subjects in the three schools with a comparison value of 0.042 < 0.05.

Attitude of children towards science gained attractiveness among the researchers, mainly to influence students’ science learning, their achievements and participation in science class. Therefore, this study using mixed method examined the effects of parents or guardians involvement on attitude of students towards science, gender, teaching strategies, past achievement and student-teacher relationship and little on classroom environment and school location. A total of 18 students completed a questionnaire developed to examine the factors involving on attitudes of students to science. Sixth grade students' attitude toward science course

The aim of the research is to analyse the 6 th grade secondary school students' attitude toward science course in terms of their genders, parental professions, the number of the books they read and their interest in science. A questionnaire, specially prepared for this research, was used to examine the attitude of the students toward science course. The surveys of this study accomplished 318 sixth grade students in two different schools of Dulkadiroğlu, Kahramanmaraş. The data collection was carried out during the 2016-2017 academic years. One way analysis of variance and independent samples t test were used. According to the research results, the students' attitude toward science course were at high level and positive. The students who are interested in science course were observed to have considerably high attitude towards science course. However, no significant and meaningful relation was found between students' science course attitude and their genders and parental profession.
