AutoImpilo: Smart Automated Health Machine using IoT to Improve Telemedicine and Telehealth

2020 International Conference on Smart Technologies in Computing, Electrical and Electronics (ICSTCEE)

This paper deals with the modalities of the Smart Automated Health Machine (AHM) using Internet of Things (IoT), a user-friendly health machine with an interactive graphical user interface for medical necessities. It is a virtual health check-up/self-screening/test system, aimed at being the first point of contact for patient screening, to monitor heart rate, blood pressure, ECG, oxygen saturation, and visual acuity of patients. In case of emergency, a doctor will be available online through a video call, based on the severity of patients' conditions, a call can be placed by a doctor to book an ambulance van or ambulance bike (based on the conditions). If a patient is unconscious, a direct call can be placed by any bystander or patient's carer to book an ambulance. In non-emergency cases, medical appointments can be booked-the system will also dispense medicines based on the health conditions and/or doctor's electronic prescription which can be selected among the list of available medicines. Each individual will be provided with a "smart health card", which will keep a record of patients' personal details, health conditions, prescriptions, and amount of tablets consumed. The AHM will provide all the necessary information, keep a record of different medical problems in different regions and different necessities required to be adopted. The system can also be called as "Self Healthcare Service (SHS)" or "Self Healthcare Units (SHU)"the initiatives are part of sustainable development goals (SDG-3) proposed by United Nations. We conducted a pilot evaluation with the patients, nurses and doctors. As an overall outcome, the practitioners feel the system can be adopted in an area where medical facility is not available immediately. Adopting this system in such regions not only help in medical emergencies/epidemic/pandemic such as COVID, it also increases the percentage of survival. The system can also be adopted in hospitals, pharmacies, schools, public places like bus/train stations, airports, markets or any commercial areas, zones prone to accidents in rural and urban areas and other places that can be quite useful and helpful to the public.

For serving the community-specific needs during spread of pandemic, various smart devices can be utilized that can provide varied functionalities including proper monitoring of high-risk patients, tracking their bio-metric measurements and capturing real-time data. We have also studied various blueprints which can sense unforeseen happenings using numerous sensors and reveal the facts accumulated on LED display. Observational outcomes have shown good agreement with the hypothetical statements.

Effective and Efficient Smart Healthcare System Aimd Covid-19 Pandemic

International Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences and Advanced Technology , 2020

Nigeria is repeatedly referred to as the Giant of Africa, due to its large population and economy, with approximately 182 million inhabitants, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world. Good health is one of the fundamental human rights everybody is entitled to and the onus of this rests on the healthcare sector to provide good health services through the three tiers of the government (federal, state and local government) to the citizens. However, healthcare delivery in Nigeria has experienced progressive deterioration due to weakened political will on the part of successive governments to effectively solve a number of problems that have accumulated in the sector over many years. This paper strategizes a robust plan to ensure the wellbeing of the citizens of Nigeria against COVID-19 and all other illnesses by proposing a framework that presents a three module mechanism for the development of an effective and efficient smart healthcare system amid COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in Nigeria. This study recommends that the Government (at all the three tiers) as well as private healthcare providers should look into this proposed framework with the platforms provided during the lockdown session.

International Journal of Distributed and Cloud Computing, 2021

The epidemic of coronavirus disease which is called COVID-19 is dispersing all over the world in a few months. The traditional health care systems face new challenges associated with the constant increase of infected persons with this disease. In the current time, the integration of smart medical sensors and devices of the Internet of Things (IoT) proposed the new health care domain which is called the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). With this technology, accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness are improved in the health domain. With the combination of cloud computing with IoT architecture, the smart healthcare system is designed which is ableto support real-time applications when Artificial Intelligence (AI) processing on a vast data which is collected by wearable sensors network. The emergence of IoMT has initiated the vital change in assisting the management of diseases, improving the diagnosis of disease, treatment methods and also reducing the cost and errors in healthcare. The implementations of this technology in the health domain not only improve the healthcare quality for patients but also help the healthcare workers. This paper studies the use of IoT solutions throughout this pandemic period in a health care system, starting from early health monitoring solutions from wearable sensors up to a final recovery from COVID-19. IoMT can play an imperative role during this pandemic time and facilitate to stop the spread of the virus, recognize the patient who has been infected with this virus and also help to control the coronavirus infection in real-time.

IOT IN HEALTHCARE SECTOR-COVID-19 PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM

Corona virus is a new virus that has not been identified in humans before which causes the corona virus disease called COVID-19. This disease was firstly discovered in China, last year in December 2019 and it spread to the world until now. The virus can easily and rapidly spread from person to person. the common symptom of COVID-19 that can be easily identified is fever or Body Temperature, blood oxygen level(Spo2) and heart rate all are playing a vital role in the covid-19 pandemic, this is the primary symptom that we have to check to identify the covid-19 virus also in day to day life this parameter determining a person's health conditions. Hence this project can help in case if the patient or person is unable to meet the doctor or requires frequent monitoring to solve all problems we are going to develop this project which can be monitor anytime and all monitor data can be stored at a cloud. Also, this project can be used at entrance of various shop, D-Marts, Clinics to monitor customers health conditions and stored their records. The result shows that the proposed system can be more efficient than the normal manually system.

A proposed collaborative framework by using artificial intelligence-internet of things (AI-IoT) in COVID-19 pandemic situation for healthcare workers

International Journal of Healthcare Management, 2020

The COVID-19 epidemic has created a global fear for humanity. Despite technological advancement, the use of face masks, hand gloves, and sanitizers are the only available preventives measures to stop the spread and transmission of coronavirus. Healthcare providers and medical staffs are always at risk of infection as they deal with the infected person at the frontline. The safety of health care workers is essential as the number of infected health care works is increasing day by day. A detailed literature review is done on a previous epidemic outbreak and COVID-19 by using suitable keywords on SCOPUS. During the analysis of literature, several challenges were found that restrict the operation of the health care workers and cause safety issues for them. This research paper aims to identify the challenges faced by healthcare sectors in dealing with this epidemic outbreak and to propose the potential solutions in terms of popular technologies like AI and IoT by doing a critical analysis of literature. The study contributes by identifying the issues and categorizing them into physical, operational, resource-based, organizational, technological, and external health care challenges. Further, suggestions and future research direction concerning epidemic control are explained for practitioners and academicians.
