This study presents an extended technology acceptance model to explore the factors that affect intention to mobile voting. This study aims to explore the utilisation of mobile phones in the education environment and investigate the expectations and intentions towards mobile voting in public Jordanian Universities. The proposed model was empirically tested using data collected from a survey containing 30 questions. The partial least squares structural equation analysis was used to evaluate the causal model. The researcher finds that all variables significantly affect students' (voters) behavioural intention except perceived price level. This study gives quantified indicators about mobile voting and a model that might help in understanding the mobile voting environment and avoids spending thousands or millions of dollars that may invest in this field without ensuring that the students (voters) will actually use the mobile voting in Jordan.

Voting is the most important civil right for the people of a democratic country by which the civilians can ensure that the state is being governed according to the people’s opinions. Voting has been applied as a means of expressing people’s opinions for centuries, but the mobile voting system is a relatively new concept. The voting system should be as perfect as possible to establish a complete democratic country. We have analyzed all the previous works done relevant to electronic voting system and briefly discussed the proposed methods of previous researchers. Among all the aspects and issues in achieving a reliable mobile voting system, we have narrowed down to three main issues where perfection is yet to be achieved. These issues are – Authenticity, Security and Confidentiality. Confidentiality is one of the most crucial issue and possibly the most important from the voter’s point of view, which ensures the anonymity of the voter’s identity and the vote content. The commonly used techniques for ensuring vote and voter confidentiality are Homomorphic System, Mix-net Protocol and Blind Signature System. In this thesis we have accumulated all the drawbacks of the existing techniques and proposed a solution of our own in order to achieve the highest level of confidentiality possible.

Remote Voting Systems has not been universally adopted by most countries for their elections such as in the case of Fiji. Although mobile phones are quite prevalent around the world and the amount of smart phones sold is increasing at a rapid rate, there have not been many elections which have capitalized on the use of Mobile Phones as a remote voting tool. This paper is a limited review of previous papers on remote voting systems. The aim was to study challenges of adoption of remote e-voting systems such as through a mobile phone and suggest innovative solutions to those challenges. As such we propose a combination of new policy solutions and technical solutions such as the use of QR code and checksum for vote verification, the use of real time facial recognition systems, and the leveraging of existing mobile hardware to ensure a secure, anonymous and trustworthy remote voting system like it has never been before.
