— This report proposes a design methodology for cascaded model-free fuzzy control systems. The ordinary Mamdani approach is modified in order to use expert knowledge for variable set-point control without any need of the system model. The methodology is successfully tested in a sub-actuated, naturally delayed setup, known as the coupled tanks system, where the water level is maintained at different set points, both in simulation and in real time.

Water is life. It is the foundation for health, hygiene, progress and prosperity. Therefore efficient water management is essential to civil society for the betterment of quality of life. The objective of this study to access out the supply water pollution status of Umiam area, situated in the Ri-Bhoi district of Mehgalaya; Chemical analysis of samples were carried out for tape water as it is a source of supply water, in order to assess the physico-chemical parameters like pH, TDS, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium fluorides, chlorides, fluoride, arsenic, nitrite, potassium, iron and also microbiological tests examined, all Samples were collected randomly from the tape water around Umiam area, in order to find out the water quality status around area. The values of analysed samples were compared with the guideline of international standard. Present study may be treated as a step ahead towards the drinking water quality management.

Humans as a living being achieved the highest material wealth and the livelihood improvement compared
to other living beings in this planet earth creating devastating environmental impacts. Some of these
environmental impacts are irreversible. Hence, living beings of the planet are experiencing the
consequences, namely, climate change, water scarcity and insecure food supply and chronic health issues.
Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa are the two main ancient civilizations in the world. These civilizations were
established along river banks. Water for agriculture and other livelihood improvements were taken via
canal systems connected to the main river.
The city of Mohenjo Daro sustained as being primarily the part of a civilization that thrived round the river
Saraswati. Later on, the river dried up owing to continuous use and exploitation. Horizontal expansion of
human settlements may have caused these devastating environmental impacts.
In contrast, Sri Lanka had a unique hydraulic civilization, evolved for many thousand years, as a result of
interactions between the local geomorphological characteristics and bimodal rainfall patterns. This may
be due to the unique shape and the geomorphological and hydrological characteristics of the country.
