Is there room, in the current market of brooding, angst-ridden superheroes, for a hero as gamely upbeat as Captain America? While he's certainly had his darker moments (in a recent run by Ed Brubaker, his all-American persona was subverted considerably), the Captain America of yore was a shining example of the power of domestic jingoism. Would anybody still buy it in today's morally muddy climate?
