LiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Heartcatch!Hi there! Winter has dried up the flowers, but that won’t stop me from getting me into the flower mood, and if it hasn't been obvious, I’ll be localizing one of the best seasons of the franchise, Heartcatch! Without further ado, here’s what I came up with! Tsubomi-> Tulip Bloom/Cure Blossom Tsubomi is a character surrounded by flowers, her family owns a flower shop and she wants to become a botanist, it’s only logical to give her a flower name, I choose Tulip since it matches a tiny bit with Tsubomi. For her last name, to continue the flower theme, I decided Bloom since that’s something that all flowers do and goes great with her character act. Erika Marinello/Cure Marine Erika is a common name over here, it makes my job easier since I’ve only got to think of a last name, I went with Marinello to go with her ocean powers. Itsuki-> Kiran Myoudouin/Cure Sunshine Kiran is an awesome name, it means ray of light in Sanskrit, its meaning is something that’s often associated with theLiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Tropical Rouge! With summer coming to an end, it seemed like the perfect timing for my newest idealized localization ideas. Today we’ll be going over the currently airing season, Tropical Rouge! Without further ado, here’s what I came up with. Manatsu-> Suvi Seaver/Cure Summer Like always, I like to use uncommon names, and Suvi was one of them, it means summer in Finnish to go with her summer theme, and the surname Seaver sounds similar to Suvi, and also it has sea in it so it goes well with the series theme. Sango-> Sandra Coraline “Sandy” Hai/ Cure Coral With this being a beach themed season, of course I had to use the name Sandy, but I still wanted to be faithful to the original meanings, so what I went is the nickname route, that way Coraline could be one of the names while Sandy is the nickname they use. For her surname, I went with the Chinese surname Hai, which means ocean to go with the tropical theme. Minori-> Teresa “Tessa” Martínez/Cure Papaya It was a bit hard to find a nameLiteratureIf were dubbing Pretty Cure- Happiness ChargeIt’s time for another of my weird timewasters, this time I’ll be doing the most critically acclaimed, beloved, fan favorite, the best in the franchise, it’s in such high place that no other Pretty Cure season will ever beat it of being the best Pretty Cure season, Happiness Charge, without further ado, here’s what I did to the masterpiece that is Happiness Charge: Megumi-> Carwen Davies/Cure Lovely Carwen means blessed so it has the same meaning as Megumi, now it may seem I went with a common surname but Davies does mean beloved, I thought it would go great with her being another love powered Pretty Cure. Hime-> Himelda “Hilda” Whitesnow/Cure Princess With Himelda being her princess name, it wasn’t very hard to figure out a name for her human alias, Hilda, for her surname, I just translated what Shirayuki means in English. Yuko-> Candy Dubois/Cure Honey I mean her entire character is that she loves food, so of course I had to go with a food related name, for her surname I wentLiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Hugtto!Hello everybody! I know the apocalypse would be coming and still would take forever to post my stupid ideas nobody really cares about, but I now I finally made another one, this time I would go the 15th anniversary season, hope you like my take on the Pretty Cures of the future! Hana Wild/Cure Cheer Hana is a name that also works in the west so I don’t see a need to change it, I gave her the last name Wild since the kanji “野” could be translated as wild, as I like to keep the names simple enough for the kidz. Yell is a pretty awkward name for a Cure, so to better go with her cheerleading motif I would change it Cheer. Though it be hilarious if she introduced herself as Cure AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Saaya-> Raphaela Healy/Cure Ange or Angel Raphaela means “god heals” since she has the cursed smart blue arc of becoming a doctor, also it’s based on the archangel of health in abrahamic religions, so it goes perfectly with the angel motif as well. I don’t need to explain what HealyLiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Kirakira a la ModeBonjour à tous! Today I’m back with sharing my ideas for hypotheticals Pretty Cure dubs, the season I’ll be going over is the sweetest of them all, Kirakira à La Mode, without further ado, here's what I came up with! Ichika Usami- Bethany “Bunny” Berry/ Cure Shortcake I want Bunny to be the name we hear throughout the show so I went with Bethany so it sounds like a believable nickname, Berry as her last name goes really good with her strawberry theme as well. Here's my choice that some people will dislike, I find the name Whip a little awkward if all the characters are speaking English now, so I went with what her animal sweet is based around, it sounds more complete for an English speaking audience in my opinion. Himari Arisugawa- Hazel Treeway/ Cure Pudding I went with Hazel since it comes from an actual nut squirrels eat, Treeway as a last name probably doesn't exist but I wanted something that goes with the squirrel theme as well. I changed her Cure name to Pudding since moreLiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Go Princess!Hello there! It's been a while since I’ve done my hypothetical Pretty cure dubs, and this time I’ll be going over what is probably the best season and my personal favorite, Go Princess! It took me a while to get it to be perfect since I wanted to honour the crowning jewel, but I finally found names that bring royalty and faithfulness to this amazing show. Without further ado, let’s open this door! Haruka-> Cliantha Springborn/Cure Flora As uncommon as Cliantha is, it’s a perfect name for her since it means “glorious flower” and she is the princess of the glorious blooming flowers, the last name Springborn is a reference on how “haru” means spring and I just added something else to make it sound more believable. Minami-> Marina Sealock/Cure Mermaid I don't need to explain what Marina means, it goes amazing with the princess of the crystal clear seas, I went with Sealock as a last name to go with the sea theme. Kirara-> Kira Estrella/Cure Twinkle I’ve simplified it to Kira toLiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Yes 5 and GogoHello everybody! It’s been a while since I’ve done one my “if I were dubbing Pretty Cure” and back with sharing my hypothetical dubs, this time I’ll be doing two seasons that are much older in the franchise, Yes 5 and Gogo! Without further ado, here's what I came up with!: Nozomi- Nadia Dreamfield/ Cure Dream The name Nadia means hope, so it goes perfectly with one of the Pretty cures of hope, Dreamfield is a straight translation of what Yumehara means. Rin- Lynn Summers/ Cure Rouge I couldn't find an exact meaning for Rin, so this will be one of the few times I’ll be using a name similar to the og Japanese, Lynn, it also goes great with her tomboy personality, I choose Summers as a last name to match her Japanese surname and it goes well with her fire powers. Urara-Clara Printemps/ Cure Lemonade I went with Clara since Lemonade is a light-powered cure and Clara’s meaning is related to light, since her dad is french, I gave the last name Printemps as it is the french word forLiteratureIf I were dubbing Pretty Cure- Futari WaWell this is a odd entry in my localization ideas, I’ll be doing a season that was already localized to begin with, now the main reason I’m doing this is that I want my own original ideas for the returning characters in my idealized Max Heart dub, but there were way too many characters to do a combined post like I did with Yes 5 and Gogo, so I had the two seasons divided, and the random wheel picked Futari Wa and I’ll do Max Heart whenever the wheel lands on it. With that weird introduction out of the way, here’s what I came up with: Nagisa Misumi-> Melanie Schwarz/Cure Black To go with the black and white theme, I wanted to give the main girls names that reflected their theme colors, for Black I went with Melanie, kind of a basic name, but it does mean black which is what I wanted to reflect, also the original names were kinda basic common japanese names, so I wanted that too, I killed two birds with one stone and I’m very happy for that. For her last name I went with the german
