Hillside’s Youth Voice Band program uses mentorship to foster growth. One former youth in residential treatment has returned to support and inspire other young people experiencing similar challenges to those she faced as a teen. We were #HillsideStrong at yesterday's 2024 Interrupt Racism Summit, organized by the Urban League of Rochester! Keynote speaker Cheryl Brown Henderson shared a powerful message, and all in attendance learned a lot through panel discussions and workshops. We're excited to be a part of this important ongoing work!
Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection alumnus Jose Laracuente, now working as a NYC-based international fashion model and actor, almost dropped out of high school -- but his HWSC Youth Advocate, Brenda Ortiz, gave him the support and encouragement he needed to keep going. The annual MudTug event, a fundraiser held by the Rochester Institute of Technology Phi Kappa Psi NY Theta and Zeta Tau Alpha lota Psi chapters, is a testament to your commitment to our cause.
