We are pleased to announce a significant milestone today. Infleqtion UK has achieved a world-first flight demonstration of two core #quantum technologies— our optical atomic clock, #Tiqker, and ultracold quantum matter—that have the potential to revolutionize Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). We want to thank our partners BAE Systems, QinetiQ, FRAUNHOFER UK RESEARCH LIMITED, ALTER TECHNOLOGY TUV NORD UK LTD, Caledonian Photonics Ltd, RedWave Labs Ltd, PA Consulting, and the UK government for their support.
Satellite navigation systems aboard aircrafts have seen an increase in hacking in recent months ✈️ Highly resilient quantum navigation technology could be key to ensuring flights are able to takeoff without disruption. Infleqtion UK, who have received government and UK Research and Innovation support of nearly £8m led the project, alongside BAE Systems Air and QinetiQ, and partners from across the UK. The success of the tests will help fulfil the UK’s commitment of making the country a quantum-enabled economy. See the first UK trials take place on an in flight aircraft 👇

From its start in a small room in the Oxford Centre for Innovation, Infleqtion UK has become one of the leading pioneering quantum tech companies in the country and a respected voice for quantum tech among the country’s leaders. Seven years since setting up in the Oxford Centre for Innovation, Infleqtion UK moves on to bigger premises at Oxford Technology Park for the next phase of the company’s growth. I recently attended the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase hosted by Innovate UK, on behalf of IDTechEx research in quantum technologies. Some of my initial takeaways from the event include: - After 10 years of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme, the UK government is still keen to continue investing into quantum. (Perhaps this is one thing Labour and the Conservatives can agree on? 🟦🤝🟥) - Collaboration across multiple technology sectors is crucial to developing commercially viable quantum products. 🌐 - Photonics and cryogenics expertise are particularly important to commercialising quantum technology, and the UK has proficiency in both of these industries. 🚨❄️ I also had some insightful discussions with many of the leading players in the UK quantum ecosystem, including Bay Photonics, Covesion Ltd., Infleqtion, Aquark Technologies, and Neuranics.
