Tarek Rabah, President & CEO, recently participated in a panel session at the 2024 HLTH USA in Las Vegas on prioritizing innovation to create a more equitable mental healthcare system. These conversations are so important because access to mental health care still remains a large barrier for many who live with mental illness. To underscore the urgency of the caregiving crisis, new research conducted by Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and sponsored by Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. (Otsuka), quantifies and contextualizes the current value of family caregiving to both society and the healthcare system in the U.S. If all unpaid caregiving were reimbursed, it would add nearly 20% to national health expenditures, a life-altering number.
