Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is an independent special district that provides sustainable, accessible, community-focused transportation options that are innovative, environmentally responsible, and promote the vitality of our region. VTA is responsible for bus, light rail and paratransit operations; congestion management; specific highway improvement projects; countywide transportation planning and provides these services to cities throughout the county including Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto San Jose, Santa Clara, Saratoga and Sunnyvale. VTA welcomes Campbell Vice Mayor Sergio Lopez as our newly elected VTA Board Chair! “As Board Chair, my focus will be on increasing accountability and transparency across the board,” said Lopez. “We can’t tackle the big challenges we’re facing without also making VTA one of the best places to work in the region.” With his background in public service and lived experience as a transit user, Lopez’s leadership reflects values of our diverse community, and we’re excited to work together to advocate for public transportation to help shape the future of VTA.
VTA has consistently driven impactful environmental change by reducing emissions and conserving resources.
