- This week marks a remarkable milestone for Mike Johnson—40 years with Washingtonian! I’ve had the privilege of knowing Mike for 37 of those years, and for the past 17, he’s been by my side as our CFO and COO. Mike is not only one of the smartest and hardest-working people I know, but he’s also a man of integrity—always fair, always a straight shooter. The work he has put in over the decades is a testament to his dedication, and without him, I don't think Washingtonian would exist. Here’s to 40 incredible years, Mike. I am a better person because of you.

Congrats to my The Aspen Institute colleagues on a job well done again with #aspenideas2024. The year round work they put into this “Mardi grad for the brain” is evident in the diversity of thinkers, doers and leaders that congregate in this small mountain town for a fortnight each year. Special thanks to key thought-partner Christopher R. Upperman of #Meta for supporting an #AI #GenAI and #Democracy conversation with a few dozen attendees with Katie Kwo Gerson, MBA and her family’s historic home.
