Erasmia, Pretoria

Erasmia is a pretty residential suburb in the heart of Centurion, which is situated midway on the short route between Johannesburg and Pretoria in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. As such, it enjoys being conveniently situated and amidst the commercial, entertainment and tourism epicentres of the country. Still, it is not part of the city centres and, thus, benefits from a quieter, suburban look and feel.

The homes here range from small, cosy apartments for newly-weds or single self-starters to massive mansions that make for gorgeous family homes and guest houses. Many have beautiful gardens, filled with the verdant greenery that is so typical of some of the residential parts of the province.

Erasmia lies just outside of Johannesburg, which means that it is relatively close to the OR Tambo International Airport. It is from here that millions of visitors from all over the world have begun their exploration of the fauna, flora, culture and history of South Africa. This airport is constantly abuzz as international tourists are welcomed to the splendour of South Africa.

Centurion forms part of the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, and is home to around 280 000 people. It occupies almost 400 square kilometres in area and boasts many different suburbs, of which one is Erasmia. Popular tourist attractions nearby include the Waterkloof Air Force Base, the Swartkop Air Force Base, the South African Air Force Museum, and the Copperleaf Golf and Country Estate. Pretoria is full of historical sites, while Johannesburg is the commercial and entertainment capital that never sleeps. This makes Erasmia the ideal base from which to discover the variety that is South Africa.
