Snake Park Beach in Durban Beachfront, KwaZulu Natal (original) (raw)

Snake Park Beach seems like an awfully strange name for a beach, but it is one of the most popular surf spots on the even more popular Golden Mile of Durban. Like many spots in the region, winter is the best time for surfing as this season brings with it the ideal winds and surf conditions. Usually the exposed beach break produces inconsistent and unreliable waves.

But when the waves are pumping you can expect the water to be full of surfers - see what good waves they can catch. When youre in the water keep your eyes out for both sharks and jellyfish, although like many of the Durban Beaches this one is protected by shark nets, it doesnt hurt to be extra vigilant.
