Donald Trump is the president of the United States. After defeating Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, he succeeded Joe Biden to become the 47th president on January 20, 2025. He entered office having promised to crack down on immigration, reduce government spending and remove restrictions on fossil fuels. He is the second president in US history to be elected to non-consecutive terms, having served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021, the first to be impeached twice and the first convicted felon to hold the office. Before he entered the White House, Trump was known as a New York property tycoon and reality television personality.
