A chiastolite occurrence located in the center W½W½ sec. 4, T16S, R39E, MDM, about 5.5 km (3.4 miles) NE of Cerro Gordo Peak, along San Lucas Canyon, on the eastern margin of the Inyo Range, near the junction with the road to the Cerro Gordo Mine, on National Park Service land (Death Valley National Park).

Mineralization is hosted in the Rest Spring Shale.
