The Complaint: or, Night-Thoughts on Life, Death, & Immortality, better known simply as Night-Thoughts, is a long poem by Edward Young published in nine parts (or "nights") between 1742 and 1745. It was illustrated with notable engravings by William Blake.

L'opera contiene varie riflessioni sulla morte scritte in versi e che favoriscono alla creazione di quell'atmosfera cupa, tenebrosa e malinconica tipica della corrente letteraria alla quale il poeta britannico appartiene, iniziando la cosiddetta scuola cimiteriale che proseguirà con Thomas Gray e molti altri.
