En el cristianismo evangélico, un culto o servicio es un momento en que los creyentes se reúnen para alabar, adorar, hablar con Dios y reciben un sermón basado en la Biblia y periódicamente la comunión. Puede tener lugar en la Iglesia o con la familia. Las reuniones se pueden realizar los días de semana, pero los domingos tienen una connotación especial.

Sauf dans l'adventisme qui le pratique le samedi, le culte communautaire des paroisses protestantes ou évangéliques a lieu le dimanche et rend l'église chrétienne visible dans la diversité de ses expressions. Il revêt une grande importance car, dans la conception protestante, il y a église là où il y a assemblée de croyants ; on peut donc dire que c'est le culte qui fait l'Église. Toutefois, le culte peut aussi être familial ou, plus rarement, être pris dans un sens individuel. Le lieu de culte traditionnellement utilisé par les communautés protestantes ou évangéliques est dénommé temple (ou parfois église, notamment par les luthériens, par certains réformés et au Canada), toutefois ce n’est ni un lieu consacré ni un lieu sacré. Il y a lieu de culte partout où des croyants célèbrent un culte, y compris dans des maisons ou des salles louées pour l'occasion, ce qui est souvent le cas des nouvelles Églises évangéliques pentecotistes. Le culte protestant ou évangélique se différencie de la messe catholique, en ce qu'il ne comporte aucun aspect sacrificiel. La Sainte-Cène n'y est d'ailleurs pas systématiquement célébrée.
