Humanitární organizace mají za úkol zlepšovat úroveň života a zdraví obyvatel, jak České republiky, tak ostatních zemí, které potřebují humanitární pomoc. Některé humanitární organizace vznikly na začátku druhé poloviny 20. století, například humanitární organizace ADRA vznikla roku 1986.
