Der Görlitzer Obermarkt zählt mit einer ungefähren Ost-West-Ausdehnung von 250 Metern zu den größten Plätzen in der historischen Görlitzer Altstadt. Er hat die Gestalt eines Rechteckes, dessen Ost- und Westseite sich etwas verjüngen. Der Obermarkt mit Gebäuden zahlreicher Epochen ist das Tor zur Görlitzer Altstadt. (de)
The Upper Market Square in Görlitz is the largest square in the historic part of the town. It was laid out in 1250 together with the Lower Market Square. Both are connected via the Bretheren Street (Brüderstraße). While the Lower Market is mostly bordered by Renaissance buildings, the Upper Market has many buildings from the Baroque and Wilhelminian periods. It is therefore the gateway to the historic part of the town. Important buildings on the market include Reichenbach Tower, Kaisertrutz and Holy Trinity Church (Dreifaltigkeitskirche). (en)
