Convoy HX 328 - warsailors.com (original) (raw)
CONVOY HX 328
Departed New York City on Dec. 24-1944 and arrived Liverpool on Jan. 8-1945.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 51 ships in this convoy.
Transcribed from several documents received from Roger Griffiths - His source: Public Records Office, Kew. The ships are listed in the order in which they appear on the various documents. A 1 form is not available to me and, therefore, I don't know the station numbers of these ships. For info, some of the ships in this convoy can also be found in the westbound Convoy ON 270 on Dec. 3. Crossed out ships did not sail, underlined ships returned to port. | ||||

Notes:
Additionally, the Rescue Vessel Fastnet was with this convoy. She was on her 9th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde with the westbound Convoy ON 270 on Dec. 4-1944, to Halifax Dec. 20 - returning with HX 328 from Halifax on Dec. 26, ending her voyage on Jan. 9-1945. Her previous eastbound voyage (8th voyage) had taken place with Convoy HX 318. ("Convoy Rescue Ships", Arnold Hague).
Commodore, H. D. Wakeman-Colville was in Norwegian Brimanger. Commodore's notes are not available.
