Hydrothermal alteration product of sphalerite and Al-rich fluids in calcite vein cavities within the Carrara marble. A member of the hydrotalcite-manasseite groups.

Gioia quarry, Colonnata valley, Carrara basin region, Apuan Alps, Italy. Link to MinDat.org Location Data.
Named for Domenico Zaccagna (1851-1940) who published the first geologic map of the Apuan Alps and a collector of minerals from the Carrara Marble.
