Born in one of the remotest villages of India at Tirutani near Madras in a traditional Indian family in the year 1988, he touched the best possible heights achievable in the modern world. Starting as an ordinary Indian child, striving like a person from the masses, achieving unique goals and leaving exemplary footprints at the places and positions where he lived, Dr. Radhakrishnan left unique remarks as a Student, Teacher, Vice-Chancellor, Politician, Ambassador, President and above all as a generous and kind human being in India and the world. He was not only a great writer but also a real ambassador of Indian Philosophy in the modern era. He was the one who exposed the people in Europe, America, former USSR and other materially powerful nations of the modern world with the Indian thought and heritage in the language easily accessible for them. He was a great teacher of humanity who gave a message to the then suffering masses and elites worldwide in the form of his series of lectures, writings and ground level actions which have been showing path to the layman, teachers, politicians and philosophers even now . This paper is a tribute to the great soul with a focus on some of his contributions, on the occasion of the Teachers Day when we are also celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya and Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore who were dear to him in all the ways. This paper includes some parts of his life, vision and action which prove him as, ‘The Great Teacher’.

The major findings of the study revealed that – (1)The very less average number of supervised lesson plans (19.196) was found out of 40 lesson plans of every student and the total percentage of average supervised lesson plans was 47.99% in practice teaching programme. (2) Supervisors’ sex does not affect their comments written for B.Ed. students during PTP but they are varying with their teaching experience. (3) Supervisors haven’t focused equal attention to each teaching skill. The skills like Black Board writing, Questioning, Illustrating with Examples, Classroom management, Pupil participation are given comparatively more attention by all supervisors while the least attention is given to skills like Introduction , Reinforcement , Silence and nonverbal clues , Probing. Further the comments which do not belong to any of the eleven categories of skills given by Passi (1976) have been identified as ‘general remarks’ which are given comparatively more attention by all the Supervisors.

Particularly, in the modern era where individuals have to pass through phases of undue anxiety and over-stress , we find that sometimes it leads to various types of depression and even loss of life. Here, the individual’s involvement in the co-curricular activities becomes more significant because these activities stop various types of anxieties and stress to come near the individual . Today, the burdens of ‘stunts in education’ i.e. marks, grades, divisions etc. are also becoming fatal for growth and life of individuals across all societies in the world. The co-curricular/extracurricular activities help the student to overcome the stress of stunts and allow the holistic development of individual. This paper focuses on aggregate of such activities and their importance as axle for holistic development of individual in educational settings at all levels.
