Fatazons! I'm wondering if anyone out there knows where the rubber boots are. I live in Vancouver and am in need of a decent pair of rain boots, but I'm having an impossible time. There's an abundance of utilitarian, ubiquitous black boots up for grabs, but I'm looking for the girlie ones with interesting patterns and designs. Does such a thing exist in a size 12 or higher?

Hi, I'm a 44 year old single mom, 5' 10", size 11 feet, about a 16-18 at the moment. Somehow, I find it easier to accept my fatness than my overall size and big-bonedness. Okay, fatazons, I think it's finally time.... for me to buy a skirt. I own a dress (possibly two, actually) but I never wear them. except for the dress-up school-girl skirt in my icon picture there; I haven't worn any kind of dress or skirt since before my son was born. (he'll be six next month-- sad but true)So I need some advice. short or long? what kind of material? If left to my own devices; I would wear nothing but jeans, t-shirts, and birkenstocks. my ex picked me up a really cute shirt the other day (here) and I kind of thought it would look nice with a skirt. Thoughts? Opinions? Help!

Okay,

fatazons, I think it's finally time.... for me to buy a skirt. I own a dress (possibly two, actually) but I never wear them. except for the dress-up school-girl skirt in my icon picture there; I haven't worn any kind of dress or skirt since before my son was born. (he'll be six next month-- sad but true)So I need some advice. short or long? what kind of material? I'm less than a year away from finishing my undergrad degree and job-hunting is looming on the horizon. In particular, I will be going to a career fair in three weeks and I have nothing to wear. (Grad school is Plan A, but I'll definitely get interview practice out of the whole experience and make my parents happy.) I'll be interviewing for finance-ish jobs, so full-out business attire is a must. Has anyone seen any nice suits floating around on the internets? I'm tall (5'11") and pear-shaped (16 on top, 22 on bottom), which makes life much more exciting. Also...heels or flats?(x-posted to fatshionista)

Hello lovely ladies and dazzling dudes! I wandered in through fatshionista, and I'm here to stay. In the interest of our happy time together, I would like to introduce myself. I am a college student from northern Idaho, finishing my last year of undergrad work and intending to pursue at least a master's in Statistics. (I'm hoping to stay in the Western U.S. for grduate school.) A quick rundown of my interests: economics, applying quantitative models to the financial markets and making heaps of money (just started, so we'll see), John Cleese's chin, dry humor, sweet wine, banter, and my delightful boyfriend saeculorum (he's at least 6'2", HUZZAH). I'm 5'11", size 16 on top, 22 on bottom, shoe size men's 10, and I would be 11.5 mega-wide in women's if shoes I liked came in mega-wide.( And now, photographic proof of my existence.Collapse )Well, that's me.
