The model of artificial neural network is constructed on the structure consisting of a multilayered perceptron based on the feed forward back propagation. A data pool is built by using a dataset consists of 66 electrocardiographic data’s taken from the MIT BIH arrhythmia database to perform the training and testing processes of artificial neural network model. The training process of artificial neural network model is performed with 46 electrocardiographic data and then the accuracy of the model is tested via 20 electrocardiographic data. The artificial neural network is trained by 3 different learning algorithms to achieve a robust model. The performance of the learning algorithms used for training the model of the artificial neural network is evaluated according to percentage error. Abusive comments on images can be humiliating and harmful to those who share photos. Developing a comment filter in languages other than English is difficult and time-consuming. This paper proposes a dataset called Abusive Turkish Comments (ATC) to detect abusive Instagram comments in Turkish. It is composed of a large number of Instagram comments posted to tabloid and sports accounts (i.e., 10,528 abusive and 19,826 not-abusive). It is the first public dataset dedicated to detecting abusive Turkish messages, as far as we know. The sentiment annotation has been done in sentence-level by assigning polarity to each comment. The performance of the abusive message detection models was evaluated using several performance metrics: Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), five well-known classifiers (i.e., Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Logistic Regression), and two reweighted classifiers (i.e., Adaptive Boosting (AdaBoost), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost)) were compared in terms of F1-score, precision, and recall. The results showed that the best performance (i.e., Micro-averaged F1-score: 0.974, Macro-averaged F1-score: 0.973, Kappa-value: 0.946) was yielded by the CNN model on the oversampled ATC dataset. The abusive message detection model proposed in this study can contribute to the development of Turkish comment filters on Instagram. Different model combinations are considered to select the best model that gives better recognition accuracy.

Turkey’s first reported case was announced on March 11, 2020—the day the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 is a pandemic. Due to the intense and widespread use of social media during the pandemic, determining the role and effect (i.e., positive, negative, neutral) of social media gives us important information about society's perspective on events. In our study, two datasets (i.e. Dataset1, Dataset2) consisting of Instagram comments on COVID-19 were composed between different dates of the pandemic, and the change between users' feelings and thoughts about the epidemic was analyzed. The datasets are the first publicly available Turkish datasets on the sentiment analysis of COVID-19, as far as we know. Tissue engineering which is another of these applications is being increasingly popular. Because extracellular matrix (ECM) consists nano-sized structure; the usage of nanomaterials in tissue engineering enables to produce of tissue scaffolds that are more closely resemble the ECM form. Thus, the success rate increases in tissue engineering as it is provided a more favorable environment for the growth of cells. Electrospinning is a popular method among nanomaterial production ones. The diameter of the fiber produced by electrospinning technique depends on the various parameters like process, solution, and environmental parameters. In this study, an ANN model based on multilayer perceptron (MLP) is presented for predicting the average fiber diameter (AFD) of elec...

Research paper thumbnail of A Simple Closed-Form Expression For Calculation Of The Electrospun Nanofiber Diameter By Using ABC Algorithm

Electrospinning method is used frequently to produce of these scaffolds. In this study, a simple and novel expression derived by using artificial bee colony (ABC) optimization algorithm is presented to calculate the average fiber diameter (AFD) of the electrospun gelatin/bioactive glass (Gt/BG) scaffold. The diameter of the fiber produced by electrospinning technique depends on the various parameters like process, solution, and environmental parameters. The experimental results previously published in the literature, which include one solution parameter (BG content) as well as two process parameters (tip to collector distance and solution flow rate) related to producing of electrospun Gt/BG nanofiber, have been used for the optimization process. At first, the AFD expression has been constructed with the use of the solution and process parameters, and then the unknown coefficie...
