Although, the scenario is not common only to Nigeria but the manner at which the ill-gotten wealth individuals were being celebrated in country is highly alarming. Nigeria is known for its series of anti-corruption mechanisms put in place by the government in order to curtail the menace in the society. Upon the establishment of the Military Legislations to curb the menace in 1975 under Generals Murtala Ramatu Muhammed and Olusegun Obasanjo down to 1999under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo where two separate anti-corruption bodies were formed (ICPC and EFCC), and to the present Administration under President Muhammadu Buhari where whistleblowing mechanism is introduced, the level of corruption is more pronounced and rampant both in public and private sectors of the Nigeria’s economy. This has invariably added to the reasons behind the successful transformation of Organization of African Unity (OAU) to African Union (AU). Having checked through the existing literature, it was observed that limited studies were found on Nigerian foreign policy's contribution towards the transformation of the continental organization in Africa. The study's findings have revealed the following attributes possessed by Nigerian foreign policy as one of the factors that aided the transformation of the continental organization in Africa. These attributes include: leadership role, economic-existing role, democratic-setting role, peace and security role, population factor, decolonization and anti-apartheid role. As part of the academic contribution of the study to the existing knowledge, the study indicated that Nigeria and its citizens tend to benefit more if its foreign policy tailors in such a way that would have a direct positive impact on Africa as a continent. Thus, the study concludes that Nigeria would have more influence in the continent particularly during decision making on Africa's matter, if she allows her fellow African countries to benefit from her favourable foreign policy. This study adopts functionalism theory to describe the possibility of mutual benefits when countries come together through functional cooperation to address common issues. This work is a qualitative study that utilizes both primary and secondary sources of data. Eight respondents were interviewed from different Nigerian government parastatals and higher institutions. The interview data was analyzed thematically with the aid of Nvivo-10.

Vote buying as a practice was well noticed in 1999 when Nigeria started experiencing a smooth and successful transition of government from one civilian administration to another. However, the alarming rate at which vote trading is growing in Nigeria has called for serious attention particularly during 2015 and 2019 general elections in the country. Although, government had made series of efforts to curb the menace such as amendment in the Electoral Act, review of electoral laws and regulations, but all to no avail. For an election to be credible, free and fair in which its result would be accepted by all, actors/stakeholders of the electoral process need to vigorously discharge their respective duties and obligation in the exercise. Evidence from the previous researches proved that Africa is having issues to conduct credible election. This study discovers that for Africa to have a credible election, players involved in the electoral process (such as the electoral bodies, the civil society, the judiciary, political parties, the mass media, and even the masses who are the electorates) are to be adequately cultured, orientated and given awareness on the beauty in discharging their role towards selection process of their leaders. Despitethe fact that, the voting behaviour of masses during an election tell more about the success of the system, but the actors or stakeholders involved in the electoral process can influence the level of voters' turnout in an election, by given the electorates regular orientation and awareness on the electoral system in the society. The study makes use of Morality-Implicit Theory to explain how the electoral process can be free and fair, if the actors involved in the process imbibed moral value and transparency in discharging their duties to the system without fear or favour. This study therefore is a qualitative in nature that employs the use of secondary source of data to explain the mechanism towards free, fair and credible election in Africa.

This is part of the role the country has been playing since its independence in 1960. The role of Nigeria in ensuring peace and stability in West African sub-region and the entire Africa has saved numerous countries from their scourge of wars. This has prevented Africa from experiencing the reoccurrence of Rwanda genocide in the continent. The timely intervention of Nigeria in the crises of countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau among others have saved those countries from disintegration. The study analyse the role played by Nigeria in ensuring peace and stability in some countries in Africa particularly the West Africa sub-region. It was revealed from the study that Nigeria cannot pretend not to be concerned about any crisis happening in Africa, particularly in her neighbouring West Africacountries due to the likely repercussion of such crisis which may have negative impact on it. The study makes use of realism theory which is characterized by statism, survival and self-help. Although, the international system is anarchic, but self-help duty of the State, political and military power are tools that can sustain the international relations among countries. It also revealed and appraised that challenges confronted by the OAU such as high poverty rate, economic stagnation, gross human rights violation, disunity in Africa among others needed to be addressed for Africa's goals and objectives to be actually realized. The study makes use of neo-functionalism theory to describe possibility of waxing stronger and great if there is mutual sense of belonging among African States, particularly which has led to the formation of AU. The study is a qualitative that uses both primary and secondary sources of data. Twelve informants were interviewed from different Nigerian government parastatals and higher institutions. The interview data was thereby analysed thematically with the aid of Nvivo 10.

The officially inauguration of the AU on 9 th July, 2002 marked the turning point in the Africa history from all sorts of political instability, insecurity, prevalent poverty rate, epidemic of deadly diseases, among others, which the continent had experienced under OAU. The AU's objectives emanated from the weakness of the OAU to strengthen the former. The study appraises AU for the mechanisms put in place to ensure peace, stability and development in the African continent. The research findings observe that measures introduced by AU

stride made by present administration through the introduction of
whistle-blowing as a mechanism to fight corruption and other
misconduct in Nigeria has been a welcome development in the
country. This has given Nigerians the opportunity to expose
wrongdoing and all sorts of unethical activities in the society as

whistle-blowers in order to encourage them towards their participation in the fight against corruption and nefarious activities in the country. If
otherwise, the Nigerian government may not achieve its objective.
The study equally sensitises Nigerian policy makers and the citizens
on the likely dangers if the whistle-blower’s protection law is not
passed and ratified by the highest law-making body of Nigeria (The
National Assembly). The paper therefore, employs exploratory
research method through the use of secondary data to examine the influence
of whistle-blowing on corruption and other misconduct in Nigeria.

The study adopts qualitative method that use both primary and secondary source of data. Twelve informants were

The ASAP through the stability apparatus and mechanisms of the AU has assisted the African continent in maintaining peaceful and stable environment that guarantee the safety of lives and properties of the entire people living in the African continent irrespective of their race and nationality. The study examines some of the circumstances that led to the formation of ASAP in Africa and how the AU has utilized the security apparatus or organs that provided under the Constitutive Act of the organization to maintain stability in the continent. The study makes use of the hegemonic stability theory to explain how collective responsibility is the security and stability issue in Africa. This has been achieved in Africa through the Standby Force designed for each of the five regions of the continent driven by the emerging powers among the States in each of the African regions, such as Nigeria in the West Africa, South Africa in the Southern Africa among others. This study therefore is qualitative approach through the uses of secondary source of data to assess how efficiency and effectiveness of the AU towards achieving the ASAP objectives to the African continent. Similarly, the likely hindrance that affects the organization in the course of achieving the ASAP's objectives with a suggested remedy is thereby addressed in the study.

Nigeria has taken part in a numerous peacekeeping and peace-making processes in the continent. In fact, the country's good largesse has cut across the African continent and beyond where the Nigerian peacekeepers had made the country proud in their efforts abroad when returning peace and stability back to the conflicts zones. However, while Nigeria has been making series of sacrifices both length, breath, left, right and centre, committing huge resources (both human and material resources) towards its peace maintenance in the continents particularly the African region, its home / domestic has been faced with series of havocs. These domestic problems ranging from poverty, insecurity, unemployment, malnutrition, ethno-religious crises and many other more had drawn the attention of scholars on the needs for Nigeria to be more rational in its big brother roles in Africa. Apart from that, the Nigeria's big brother role in Africa has not been appreciated by the beneficiaries. Nigeria has often been paid back with ingratitude by African countries to which it had been a benefactor. These formed parts of the gap to be filled in this study. This study therefore employs historical and descriptive methodologies through the use of secondary data to assess the burden shouldered by Nigeria in its course for peace and
