The study involves 76 students of grade-11 from a senior high school in Cimahi. The study employs three kinds of instrument namely mathematical communication and mathematical critical thinking tests and mathematical critical thinking scale. The study found that the grade of mathematical communication ability of students taught by PBL was classified as fairly good and it was better than the grade of students taught by conventional teaching that classified as medium. However, there was no different grades of mathematical critical thinking ability and of disposition of students in the both classes. This study aims to analyze student errors in working on the problem on the indicators of students... more This study aims to analyze student errors in working on the problem on the indicators of students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the comparison material at one of the private junior high schools in the city of Bandung. The research method is carried out quantitatively with a descriptive approach. Sampling of the research conducted was as many as 37 in one of the private junior high schools in the city of Bandung. In the technique of collecting data used tests. The test is based on indicators of mathematical problem solving abilities using five indicators with the number of questions as many as 4 items. Based on the results of tests carried out by analyzing student errors in each indicator of problem solving ability, it was found that the indicators of rechecking were the indicators with the most errors of answers.

This study aims to determine the ability of students' mathematical understanding and student motivation to learn using the Problem Based Learning approach. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a pretest and posttest group design. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Margaasih in Bandung Regency. The sample in this study were two classes from class VIII, namely class VIII F as Experiment I class and VIII G as Experiment II class. The research data were obtained through tests of students' mathematical understanding abilities and student mathematics learning motivation questionnaires. Based on quantitative data analysis, it can be concluded that the ability of students' mathematical understanding and learning motivation of junior high school students whose learning uses the Problem Based Learning approach increases.

This research is a quasi-experimental study that applies values and character-nuanced innovative ... more This research is a quasi-experimental study that applies values and character-nuanced innovative teaching to develop hard skills and soft skills of junior and senior high students’ math. The research subjects consisted of 130 senior high students and 115 junior high students in some districts / cities in West Java. The results showed that the hard skills and soft skills of students’ math of which the process of teaching and learning is using values and character-nuanced innovative teaching is better than using regular learning. There is an association between hard skills and soft skills of students. The attitude of the students toward the values and character-nuanced innovative teaching is positive. But there are still many difficulties experienced by students when accomplishing the tasks of hard skills and the soft skills components of students are still weak.

This study was part of a master thesis, and it was a sub-study of a Postgraduate Research Grant from DGHE in 2013 as well. The study was quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test control group design, involving 67 ninth-grade students from a junior high school in Bandung. The instruments of this study were an essay test on mathematical connection, a self-confidence scale, and a scale on students’ perception toward CTL-MM. The result of the study revealed that CTL-MM was better in improving students’ MCA, N-Gain of MCA, and SC. Tuntutan guru menjadi lebih banyak, selain administrasi yang harus diselesaikan, ditambah dengan keharusan untuk mampu menggunakan teknologi. Salah satu alternatif solusinya adalah dengan menerapkan pelatihan ASGAR yang bertujuan untuk mendukung kegiatan guru-guru dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode yang digunakan yaitu berupa workshop dan pelatihan secara langsung menggunakan ASGAR kepada guru mulai dari tingkatan SD, SMP dan SMA yang ada di pangalengan. Hasil pelatihannya yaitu pelatihan ASGAR ini mndapat respon positif dari para guru peserta pelatihan.mengetahui bahwa pembelajaran matematika bisa dilakukan dengan menarik sehingga pembelajaran tidak akan terasa membosankan, dan menggunakan media tersebut dalam penyampaian konsep dari suatu materi dengan efisien dan efektif, mengeksplorasi media tersebut sesuai dengan materi yang ingin disampaikan oleh guru.

The population of this study was mathematics junior high school teachers in West Java province. The samples were 82 mathematics junior high school teachers selected using random purposive sampling for experimental class and control class. It was concluded that: 1) the teacher's mathematical questioning ability who received metaphorical thinking learning is better than those who received conventional learning; 2) learning factors and KAM (Kemampuan Awal Matematis = Prior Mathematical Ability) affect the achievement of teachers' mathematical questioning ability; there is an interaction effect between learning and KAM in developing teachers' mathematical questioning ability; 4) teachers' mathematical questioning ability does not reach optimal for submitting non-routine and open-ended questions indicator.

The research method used in this research is correlational research, where the purpose of this research to see the relationship between two variables. Where the population is taken is all students of SMK on one SMK in Cmahi City, and taken a sample of one class. The sample of research is the students of class VIII G SMP Negeri 2 Cisarua as many as 28 people. The instruments used are communication skill test, questionnaire of mathematical resilience and interview guidance. The result of data analysis showed that communication ability of students who have high resilience was able to solve the problem of mathematical communication skill well, as well as resilient students were able to complete the test of mathematical communication ability well, but the low resilience students were less precise in completing the test the ability of mathematical communication.

Traditionally, second-hand clothes (SHC) are viewed as non-valuable items that exclusively belong... more Traditionally, second-hand clothes (SHC) are viewed as non-valuable items that exclusively belong to the lower social class. Today, SHC have become a new global fashion trend and a new business phenomenon. This study explores the effect of acculturation attitudes on SHC adoption intention and behavior. The survey outcomes from 300 Indonesian respondents show that proactive and reactive attitudes affect SHC adoption intention and behavior differently. In addition, intention is found to significantly affect SHC buying behavior. In this article, we discuss these findings and implications. The findings of this study are important because the SHC phenomenon is increasing significantly and SHC are predicted to become even more popular in the years to come.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-efficacy siswa ... more Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-efficacy siswa SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Self-efficacy terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah SMPN 41 Bandung, Sampel dipilih secara acak diperoleh kelas IX dalam satu kelas di SMPN 41 Bandung sebanyak 30 siswa. Pengumpulan data penelitian, siswa diberi 2 buah instrumen penelitian yaitu instrumen tes dan instrumen non tes. Instrumen tes berupa 7 buah soal uraian kemampuan komunikasi matematis, sedangkan instrumen non tes berupa angket Self-efficacy yang terdiri dari penyataan positif dan pernyataan negatif. Data tersebut diuji regresi dan korelasinya. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa Self-efficacy berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP, dengan persamaan regresi Y = 0,347X-10,255 menunjukkan pengaruh yang positif, serta tingkat keeratan yaitu koefisien korelasi pearson sebesar 0,776 tergolong dalam interpretasi kuat positif. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini, guru sebaiknya merancang proses pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa agar kemampuan komunikasi siswa semakin meningkat.

This research is a quasi-experimental study aiming at analyzing the role of the metacognitive gui... more This research is a quasi-experimental study aiming at analyzing the role of the metacognitive guidance approach in order to improve high-school students' critical thinking skills by applying Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. This study involved high school students in one of the high schools in the city of Cimahi. In this study, the pretest for mathematical critical thinking skills is administered to two classes of students of control and experiment groups. The experimental group uses the metacognitive guidance approach assisted by GeoGebra software, whereas the control group uses the conventional method. Both classes receive the same hours of study, mathematics teacher as well as mathematics contents. The researcher conducted observations only in the experimental class. At the end of the treatment, a post-test for the two groups was carried out regarding students' mathematical critical thinking skills included processing the results of the test, namely the data. After this research has been carried out, the next step is to analyze the data and draw conclusions of the research. In analyzing the data, it is categorized into three levels, namely high, medium and low abilities. The data is analyzed by means of t-test to test the difference of two means of students' critical thinking ability. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS software. The analysis shows that there is a significant difference in mathematics critical thinking ability between the two groups of students.

The research method used in this research is the correlational method with the quantitative approach using simple of 30 students of junior high school class VIII in one of junior high school in West Bandung Regency with high, medium, and low ability student classification. The instrument used consisted of the test of critical thinking ability of mathematics as much as 7 item and non-test in the form of the self-efficacy scale as many as 24 statement. The results of this study indicate that the ability to think critically mathematically junior high school students are positively influenced by self-efficacy amount 56,4 % and influenced by other factors of students self-efficacy amount 43,6 %.

Subject in this research is SMPN 5 Cimahi students of class IX-B which in this case student have studied material of building flat side space. The instruments used consisted of tests of critical mathematical thinking skills and student interviews. The results showed that the location of the mistakes made by the students is a mistake of concepts, error translation and strategy error. Factors that cause the error because they do not understand simple concepts, do not know the purpose of the problem, can not translate the problem into the mathematical sentence, can not finish the mathematical sentence.

The population of this study was mathematics junior high school teachers in West Java province. The samples were 82 mathematics junior high school teachers selected using random purposive sampling for experimental class and control class. It was concluded that: 1) the teacher's mathematical questioning ability who received metaphorical thinking learning is better than those who received conventional learning; 2) learning factors and KAM (Kemampuan Awal Matematis = Prior Mathematical Ability) affect the achievement of teachers' mathematical questioning ability; there is an interaction effect between learning and KAM in developing teachers' mathematical questioning ability; 4) teachers' mathematical questioning ability does not reach optimal for submitting non-routine and open-ended questions indicator.

The sample of research is the students of class VIII G SMP Negeri 2 Cisarua as many as 28 people. The instruments used are communication skill test, questionnaire of mathematical resilience and interview guidance. The result of data analysis showed that communication ability of students who have high resilience was able to solve the problem of mathematical communication skill well, as well as resilient students were able to complete the test of mathematical communication ability well, but the low resilience students were less precise in completing the test the ability of mathematical communication.

Today, SHC have become a new global fashion trend and a new business phenomenon. This study explores the effect of acculturation attitudes on SHC adoption intention and behavior. The survey outcomes from 300 Indonesian respondents show that proactive and reactive attitudes affect SHC adoption intention and behavior differently. In addition, intention is found to significantly affect SHC buying behavior. In this article, we discuss these findings and implications. The findings of this study are important because the SHC phenomenon is increasing significantly and SHC are predicted to become even more popular in the years to come.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Self-efficacy terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah SMPN 41 Bandung, Sampel dipilih secara acak diperoleh kelas IX dalam satu kelas di SMPN 41 Bandung sebanyak 30 siswa. Pengumpulan data penelitian, siswa diberi 2 buah instrumen penelitian yaitu instrumen tes dan instrumen non tes. Instrumen tes berupa 7 buah soal uraian kemampuan komunikasi matematis, sedangkan instrumen non tes berupa angket Self-efficacy yang terdiri dari penyataan positif dan pernyataan negatif. Data tersebut diuji regresi dan korelasinya. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa Self-efficacy berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP, dengan persamaan regresi Y = 0,347X-10,255 menunjukkan pengaruh yang positif, serta tingkat keeratan yaitu koefisien korelasi pearson sebesar 0,776 tergolong dalam interpretasi kuat positif. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini, guru sebaiknya merancang proses pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa agar kemampuan komunikasi siswa semakin meningkat.

This study involved high school students in one of the high schools in the city of Cimahi. In this study, the pretest for mathematical critical thinking skills is administered to two classes of students of control and experiment groups. The experimental group uses the metacognitive guidance approach assisted by GeoGebra software, whereas the control group uses the conventional method. Both classes receive the same hours of study, mathematics teacher as well as mathematics contents. The researcher conducted observations only in the experimental class. At the end of the treatment, a post-test for the two groups was carried out regarding students' mathematical critical thinking skills included processing the results of the test, namely the data. After this research has been carried out, the next step is to analyze the data and draw conclusions of the research. In analyzing the data, it is categorized into three levels, namely high, medium and low abilities. The data is analyzed by means of t-test to test the difference of two means of students' critical thinking ability. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS software. The analysis shows that there is a significant difference in mathematics critical thinking ability between the two groups of students.

The research method used in this research is the correlational method with the quantitative approach using simple of 30 students of junior high school class VIII in one of junior high school in West Bandung Regency with high, medium, and low ability student classification. The instrument used consisted of the test of critical thinking ability of mathematics as much as 7 item and non-test in the form of the self-efficacy scale as many as 24 statement. The results of this study indicate that the ability to think critically mathematically junior high school students are positively influenced by self-efficacy amount 56,4 % and influenced by other factors of students self-efficacy amount 43,6 %.

Subject in this research is SMPN 5 Cimahi students of class IX-B which in this case student have studied material of building flat side space. The instruments used consisted of tests of critical mathematical thinking skills and student interviews. The results showed that the location of the mistakes made by the students is a mistake of concepts, error translation and strategy error. Factors that cause the error because they do not understand simple concepts, do not know the purpose of the problem, can not translate the problem into the mathematical sentence, can not finish the mathematical sentence.
