Plant-interceded green combination of nano-materials has been progressively picking up ubiquity because of its eco-accommodating nature and cost-adequacy. In the current examination, we integrated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by utilizing a fluid arrangement of Abrus precatorius Linn. plant extract. The bio-decreased silver nanoparticles were described by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, checking electron magnifying lens (SEM) and Fourier change infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy. The UV produced an expansive range at 442 nm frequency. The size of silver nanoparticles extended from1µm-100µm seen by SEM. The FTIR estimation was completed to recognize the conceivable auxiliary metabolites liable for effective adjustment and future organic movement of plant-based silver nanoparticles. AgNP also showed to produce good anticancer, cytotoxicity and wound healing activity.

Research paper thumbnail of Phytochemical Investigation and the Effect on Biological Systems of Tobacco Sample Used as Stimulant

Journal of drug discovery and therapeutics, Sep 7, 2020

India is the second largest consumer of tobacco globally, and accounts for approximately one-sixt... more India is the second largest consumer of tobacco globally, and accounts for approximately one-sixth of the worlds’ tobacco related deaths. The tobacco problem in India is peculiar, with the consumption of variety of smokeless and smoking forms. Unlike other members of the Solanaceae family, such as tomato and potato, which have uncontroversial nutritional role, tobacco plant carries in its leaf’s quantities of alkaloids; Nicotine which acts as a stimulant. This present study investigates the physico-chemical and phytochemical parameters, and the biological activity of the stimulating compound present in the North Indian Tobacco product. Analysis was carried out through chromatographic techniques of TLC, GC-MS, UV and IR spectroscopy. The result of the findings shows that tobacco product contains Acetoin, an additive intoxicating compound which has similar effect as Ethanol intoxication with remarkable antioxidant activity. Keyword: Tobacco, Stimulant, TLC, GC-MS, Acetoin, Antioxidant activity.

A long time storage at extreme temperature can affect its flavonoid content and antibacterial activity. Therefore, this study aims to determine the change of quercetin equivalent flavonoid levels in the L. camara Linn. leaf extract cream stored at an extreme temperature of 45 o C, and 75% relative humidity for 1 month, as well as its antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus. The results showed that quercetin equivalent flavonoid levels of L. camara Linn. leaf extract cream at 3%, 4%, and 5% on day 0 are 41.76±1.03mg/100gr, 82.02±1.07mg/100gr, and 31.07±0.85mg/100gr, respectively. After storage on day 30, they were 42.43±1.14mg/100 gr, 80.51±1.24mg/100gr, and 34.34± 0.75mg/100 gr, respectively. Inhibition zone diameters of 3%, 4%, and 5% L. camara Linn. leaf extract against E. coli on day 0 were 11.52±0.71mm, 13.60±0.51m...

Research paper thumbnail of Chemical Approach to the Health Effect of Marijuana Dependence:A Medicinal Alternative to Opioid - a Review

Journal of drug discovery and therapeutics, Sep 7, 2020

Moreover, marijuana has become a rising alternative medicine for Opioid drugs. The side effect due to the usage of Opioid drugs as pain reliever has increased significantly as the number of addicts and overdose continue to escalate. The efficient use of marijuana (Cannabis sativa L. (Limaeus)) a psychoactive plant material, has led to increased recreational dependency of drug. Hence, there is a need to examine the phytochemical properties and biological studies. In vivo and In vitro, biological effects on the brain (Central Nervous System) and body can be studied. There is report on the effects of marijuana. The frequent use of marijuana poses a risk of an overdose or death and infrequent use causes long-term health problems. This article reviews the reason for marijuana dependency and various drug developments enhanced by their chemical constituents. This review provides evidence that marijuana is not just used for pain relief but also contains medicinally important bioactive compounds. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD (cannabidiol), α- pinene, apigenin, quercetin, are compounds found to be present in marijuana. The use of this plant species as traditional medicine for treatment of various diseases requires scientific justification and validation. Keywords: Marijuana, Dependency, Traditional medicine, Opioid, Bioactive compound.

Over time, synthetic drugs became more important and their side effects became more severe than their medical purpose. This study provides information about green leafy vegetables and increases global awareness on this subject. Lettuce is an important plant known for its culinary uses, but it has little or no publicly acknowledged medicinal value in the treatment of many human ailments. Phytochemicals phenols, tannins, steroids, carbohydrate glycosides, flavonoids and alkaloids found in lettuce are beneficial to the health of the plant. This review focuses on the pharmacological activities and various bioactive active components of lettuce, including its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, analgesic, neuroprotective and sedative properties. Because of its healing potential, lettuce can be used as a nutritional supplement. Lettuce also has a reputation among the public. However, lettuce is a powerful herbal medicine with many medicinal properties that are worth investigating as they show promise in drug discovery and development.
