They need education about biological disasters. Objective: The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two methods including lecture-based training and multimedia software on military nurses' knowledge about the triage of biological incident victims. Material and Methods: This study was quantitative, quasi-experimental, and interventional. Participants included 50 nurses of emergency wards or Members of the Crisis Committee in two military hospitals. They were randomly divided into two groups of multimedia software or lecture-based training about triage in biological disasters. Furthermore, Pre-test and post-test were performed. The researchermade questionnaire was valid and reliable. Data were analyzed by SPSS 25. The significance level of the tests was less than 5%. Results: The participants of both groups were homogeneous in terms of age, gender, education level, history of membership in disaster team, shift work, work experience, and participation in training courses. Mean knowledge scores of both groups did not show a significant difference before and after the intervention (P>0.05). Each group had a significant difference in knowledge before and after the intervention (P=0.001). Thus, the knowledge score had increased after the education in both groups. Discussion and Conclusion: Either of the methods (lecture-based and multimedia training) can be used due to their same effects. However, implementing virtual and distance learning methods in key items such as triage will be necessitated due to the rapid spread of the disease, the time-consuming nature of classical education, dependence on time, place, and coordination required in the formation of the class, and the lack of human resources as one of the challenges facing the hospital in such disasters. Evaluating the effectiveness and professional development of multimedia educational software, animation, and remote interactive training is recommended in teaching the content required in biological disasters.

Undoubtedly, burnout is one of the factors that has the greatest effect on productivity. If the strong relationship between burnout and productivity is proven, then managers can be encouraged to provide better conditions for nurses to be more productive. Objectives: The current study was conducted to investigate the relationship between productivity and burnout in nurses of the Aja Hospitals in Tehran. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 322 clinical nurses working in Aja Hospitals in Tehran. The subjects were recruited by multi-stage sampling methods in 2012-2013. Data was collected using the Persian version of the productivity questionnaire which was prepared by Nayeri et al. and the Maslach Burnout Inventory, which was then analyzed by SPSS software Version: 19, IBM Company. Results: The findings showed that many nurses (35.1%) obtained a high productivity score. From the viewpoint of burnout intensity, the majority of nurses (85.4%) were at medium to high levels in the dimension of emotional exhaustion. Moreover, most (79.8%) obtained high scores in the dimension of depersonalization. In the dimension of personal accomplishment, 61.5% of nurses felt little success. Pearson's correlation coefficient indicated a weak statistical reverse relationship between total productivity score and burnout dimensions (P < 0.001). Conclusions: Based on the high levels of burnout found in this study, greater awareness and knowledge of the contributing factors are essential in order to increase nurses' productivity. Formulating policies in order to remove these contextual factors, prophylaxis, treatment and training methods, and adaptive coping strategies, are also required.

This study was carried out to compare the effect of applying direct observation procedural skills and routine evaluation method on clinical skills of nursing students. Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on students of Nursing Army College, Tehran, Iran. After obtaining approval from the Ethics Committee of the Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences Research Deputy, all nursing students and instructors who agreed to participate in this study sign the informed consent. The participants were randomly assigned into intervention and control groups. After the teachers were trained and an inter-raters reliability test was conducted, evaluation was performed through DOPS in the intervention group while the control groups were evaluated through the routine method. Assessment checklists for two procedures (Intra venous catheterization and change dressing) were valid and reliable. Finally data were analyzed through descriptive and analytical statistics (Chi-square, t-test, Repeated Measure ANOVA) using SPSS version 16. Results: No significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of demographic variables (P>0.05), but a significant difference was observed between intervention and control scores (P=0.000). In other words, application of DOPS has improved clinical skills of the students significantly. Conclusion: Using this new method improved the students' scores in clinical procedures implementation; therefore, we suggest that nursing colleges apply this evaluation method for clinical education.
