Bangladesh, a growing economic country, is also experiencing severe economic shockwaves. Besides the economic shock, it is also facing an imbalance in the food supply in all of its channels. The purpose of this paper is to provide a general understanding of the possible impacts of COVID-19 on food supply in Bangladesh. The paper presents a brief summary of the global COVID-19 situation and the current food supply status concerning COVID-19. In Bangladesh, the trend of COVID-19 cases is increasing and due to the lockdown situation, the food supply is hampering badly. Since most farmers are not adapted to mechanized agriculture and facing labour shortages, their production has fallen at risk in terms of harvesting. Due to buyer shortage and unavailability of supply channels, products are being forced Review Article Al Zabir et al.; SAJSSE, 10(1): 15-23, 2021; Article no.SAJSSE.63010 16 to sell at a low price and it will take years to overcome this shock as the prognosis of COVID-19 is still unknown to all. Though the government has taken some policy measures to maintain a sufficient food supply, protect the agriculture sector, and mitigate the possible losses.

Student's perceptions were taken to determine the factors affecting academic performance. Independent t-test was used to find out the mean difference of academic results between two groups of students. Results showed that there is a significant difference between male and female students in the case of academic study time and CGPA; as the female students have higher CGPA than male students by utilizing most of the academic study time. To find out the effective factors, the result showed that students who attend class regularly, feel comparatively less academic stress, submit assignments in due time and spend more time for the academic study were found to have higher academic marks compared to others who do not. By assessing other factors, results showed the students coming from the nuclear family got good marks rather than the extended family. Besides, the students having sufficient access to healthy food, satisfied with the current accommodation level had good academic marks, and students who spent more time in unproductive activities got poor marks in academics. Improving these factors would also influence much of the academic success of students.

In this study, both economic models of description and statistical analysis were used to analyse the data. It was found that tomato cultivation was a profitable business in the study area. Per hectare production was 42.68 m. Ton. The average gross cost for tomato production was BDT. 2,80,004/ha. Per hectare gross return of small, medium and large farm was BDT. 5,62,172/ha, BDT. 5,57,908/ha and BDT. 5,44,674/ha, respectively. The overall benefit-cost ratio (undiscounted) was found 1.98. Per hectare, the benefit-cost ratio of the small, medium and large farm were 2.09, 1.99 and 1.87, respectively, which indicates that tomato production by small farm was more profitable. It was also found that the use of human labour, insecticides, fertilizer and bamboo had a Original Research Article

Primary data from 60 women were collected through face to face interview. Results showed that most of the women employees were in the age bracket 27-37 and 38-47. Majority of employees had an experience with 5-10 years. The findings capitulated that most of the employees were dissatisfied with sexual harassment, child care facilities, the opportunity for career development and transportation facilities. They were gratified with their job satisfaction facets such as maternity leave, equally distributed workload, emergency leave, pay and benefits, excellent communication with coworkers and good relationship with immediate supervisor. Among the thirteen factors, only seven factors highly satisfied them to perform their work and three factors were detrimental to doing well.

A simple random sampling technique was used in selecting the respondents. Data were collected through interview schedule. Small, medium and large size of small indigenous fish species like Veda, Puti, Tengra, Taki, Baim, Escha and Chela were considered for calculation. It appears from the study that processor bought 85% fresh fishes from fishermen directly and after drying fresh fish processor sold most of their product to wholesaler (85%) through aratdar. Wholesaler bought a big portion (90%) from processor through aratdar and sold their product to retailer and consumer and it was 80% and 20%, respectively. Retailers sold the entire dry fish to ultimate consumers and buy 5% from processor 10% from processor through aratdar and 85% from wholesaler. The highest value added in case of Baim large size which were accounted for Tk. 381.97/kg followed by small sized of Escha Tk. 291.23/kg. The value chain actors gained maximum profit by selling of these species due to the highest demand of two species by the local consumer Original Research Article Mozahid et al.; BJEMT, 16(4): 1-15, 2017; Article no.BJEMT.32124 2 as well the people migrated from Sylhet area to the different country. The lowest value added by intermediaries in case of medium sized Tengra which were calculated Tk. 127.64/kg followed by Chela small size Tk. 129.23/kg. In the study area traders are facing several problems like inadequate capital price instability, lack of transport facilities, inadequate storage facilities, etc.

Research paper thumbnail of Assignment on Design of Experiment

An experimental design consists of a careful description of how a particular hypothesis can be ex... more An experimental design consists of a careful description of how a particular hypothesis can be experimentally tested. This requires: (a) an explicit specification of the treatment factors to be tested; (b) the specific range of values over which these treatment factors will be tested; (c) the manner in which observations will be generated, recorded, and reported; and (d) the criteria that will be used to evaluate the degree to which the observations appear to support the hypothesis or to be inconsistent with the hypothesis. Some basic concepts of design of experiment Treatments are the different procedures we want to compare. These could be different kinds or amounts of fertilizer in agronomy, different long distance rate structures in marketing, or different temperatures in a reactor vessel in chemical engineering. Experimental units are the things to which we apply the treatments. These could be plots of land receiving fertilizer, groups of customers receiving different rate structures, or batches of feedstock processing at different temperatures. Responses are outcomes that we observe after applying a treatment to an experimental unit. That is, the response is what we measure to judge what happened in the experiment; we often have more than one response. Responses for the above examples might be nitrogen content or biomass of corn plants, profit by customer group, or yield and quality of the product per ton of raw material. Randomization is the use of a known, understood probabilistic mechanism for the assignment of treatments to units. Other aspects of an experiment can also be randomized: for example, the order in which units are evaluated for their responses.
