The Availability and Use of Drugs in Slovenian Primary Schools and in Vicinities Close to Schools

According to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drugs Addiction, preventive programmes and in schools and in vicinities close to schools, from students attending Slovenian primary schools. The research study consists of a data were gathered with a questionnaire, which consisted mainly of opinion and evaluation scales. Findings: The most important pay special attention to drug use in schools and in vicinities close to schools , although they may not initially see it as a problem.

Youth Categories and Drugs in Kosovo (2001-2014)

The use of narcotic substances has become a phenomenon of great concern, not only in Kosovo but also in all other countries of the world. Although in Kosovo there are no accurate statistics on how many individuals are regular users of narcotic substances, it is calculated that there are approximately 20. 000 users. In this paper the authors will reconsider the role of community in the Republic of Croatia in prevention of drug abuse among youth. Also, it is reconsidering various possibilities that are extending toward young consumers in the Republic of Croatia in the meaning of giving up on consuming illegal drugs. The paper will also analyse the role that various community segments such as district councils, parents, school, peer groups, social care service, centers for substance abuse prevention, NGO's and institutions of represion (police, distric attorney, court), have in dealing with the drug abuse problem. Drugs have the capacity to cause changes in behavior, perception, cognition and mood, and the desire to continue with their use, despite potentially very damaging consequences. The use of these substances occurs in both sexes and in all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and geographic groups. A description of drug use among adolescents in Slovakia in different age and gender groups

The paper describes the drug-using behaviour among young people (12-19 y.) within two age groups in Slovakia. The study aims to describe the prevalence of two different forms of drug-use (experimentation and use within the last 30 days) of legal and illegal substances: alcohol, nicotine (cigarettes), marijuana, and other illegal drugs. A descriptive analysis was applied to two age and gender groups. The research sample was made up of 2489 pupils in primary and secondary schools (various types) from different regions within Slovakia. One set was made up of 39.1% (N = 974) boys and 61.3% (N = 1515) girls aged 12-19 years which was divided into two age groups: group “14” (14 to 15 years, N = 923) and group “16” (16 and older, N = 1566). Social Pathology of Drug Abuse, Addiction and the Possible Problems Generated

The article explores how increasing urbanization, and emergence of large cities has contributed to increasing drug abuse and addiction more within male youth, and to a lesser extent within the female youth. The whole scenario creates the anomie of diverting the girls/women towards prostitution in many cases. The analysis of the given scenario is called social pathology in sociology. Such a social deviation generates increasing social problems, social disorganization, personal destruction and abnormal behavior affecting upcoming generations as well. The problem is more serious in developing countries where more poverty is there. However, drug use produces personality disintegration, and eventually is a chief cause of family disorganization.

Current state of selective prevention practice of drug abuse in Croatia

Drug use is a phenomenon which seriously disturbs the health and the ability to function socially and in a balanced manner for a large number of young people in Croatia who are at the most sensitive stage of their individual development (Petrović, 1983; as cited in Bouillet, 2007). The perspective of developmental psychopathology helps to create all-encompassing theoretical models that explain the development of problems related to drug abuse, identify the groups that have the highest risk and guide the creation of logical models for prevention programs. This paper offers a hypothesized model of development of addiction problems in adolescence from the perspective of developmental psychopathology and uses it as a tool to analyse the current state of selective prevention practice in Croatia.
