The purpose and target of this study was to describe the efforts of the principal to improve the professional competence of teachers in Public Elementary School No. 162/I Bukit Sari Village, Maro Sebo District. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa pesantren ini didirikan oleh KH. Muchtar Adam. Pondok ini terletak di jalan poros bandara H. Aroeppala Passanderang Km. 5bvMatalalang desa Bontobangun kecamatan Bontoharu kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, berdiri pada tahun 1995 M (1416 H). Kepala Sekolah dalam hal ini berperan meliputi; peran sebagai fasilitator, peran sebagai motivator, peran sebagai manajer, dan peran sebagai supervisi. Sementara kinerja guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) pada SMA Pesantren Babussalam al-Muchtariyah Selayar meliputi; Kinerja sebagai pengasuh pondok, kinerja sebagai da’i, kinerja sebagai guru PAI. Faktor penghambat dari sisi internal yaitu: sarana yang kurang memadai, dan kurangnya Kedisiplinan. Adapun faktor eksternal, yaitu: kerjasama orangtua/wali santri kurang Maksimal. Sementara faktor pendukug dari segi internal adalah optimisme masyarakat pondok, adapun dari aspek eksternal meliputi kepercayaan Masyarakat, dan hubungan baik dengan pemerintah.

Development of competence of teachers of PAI is a basic requirement for institutional. Teachers have a variety of names in the perspective of Islam have extended the repertoire of Islamic values and the performance of teachers. Among the names in Islamic religious education is ustads, mu'allim, murabbiy, mursyid, mudarris and muaddib. Each name has a classification of values and functions that impact on the quality of teacher competence PAI. Competence for teachers in need of institutional management capabilities and its sub-systems within the institution. Management is a tool to develop alignment concept of competencies, values and appearance of the teacher. Teachers are part of the institutional system requires management to manage five competence of teachers. Five competencies that are personable, professional, pedagogical, social and leadership. The competence should be the strength of the weakness of teacher competence and competence development it into an opportunity rather than obstacles teachers face external challenges.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru di SMA Negeri 1 Banjarsari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah. Setting penelitian di SMA Negeri 1 Banjarsari. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data dengan wawancara observasi,, dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan tahapan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fungsi kepala sekolah sebagai edukator adalah menciptakan iklim sekolah yang kondusif, memberikan nasehat kepada warga sekolah, memberikan dorongan kepada tenaga kependidikan serta melaksanakan model pembelajaran yang menarik. Teacher competency enhancement must be carried out by the head of the madrasah continuously so that teacher competency always increases and the teacher becomes a great and qualified teacher. The objectives of this study include; 1) Describe the headmaster's efforts in improving the competence of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Maarif 02 Singosari teachers. 2) Description of the supporting and inhibiting factors that affect the head of the madrasah in enhancing the competence of teachers of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Maarif 02 Singosari. To achieve the above objectives, the researcher used a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive research. The location of this study was conducted at MI Al-Maarif 02 Singosari Malang. The informants in this study were the head of the madrasa and the class teacher. The technique of collecting data uses interviews and documentation. To analyze the author's data using qualitative descriptive analysis. The findings of this study are: 1) the head of the madrasa conducts an effort that is formally done namely by Rutinan Meetings, includes training, teacher training and seminars, inter-teacher / KKG group studies, supervision and class visits and Conducting Assessments, while non-formal activities are by familiarizing discipline and always providing motivation with the aim of increasing the teacher's insight, providing opportunities for teachers to improve the spirit of discipline and teacher skills,2) Supporting factors affecting the madrasah head in increasing teacher competency are the fulfillment of madrasah infrastructure that is fulfilled, enthusiastic and enthusiastic about the teachers participating in the training, and the support of the foundation while the inhibiting factors faced by the madrasa principals are; the head of the madrasa itself and the teacher who is not in the madrasa.

Masalah kepemimpinan dari dulu hingga sekarang selalu menjadi perhatian yang menarik dan senantiasa memberikan daya pikat yang kuat bagi setiap orang. Mengingat kepemimpinan menduduki posisi sentral dalam suatu organisasi, pemimpinlah yang menentukan perubahan, pembaharuan, perbaikan, dan menjamin kemamapuan organisasi untuk terus berprestasi di masa depan. Suatu organisasi dapat dikatakan akan berhasil atau bahkan gagal sebagian besar ditentukan oleh fungsi kepemimpinan, sehingga tidak berlebihan jika ada ungkapan yang menyatakan pemimpinlah yang bertanggung jawab atas kegagalan pelaksanaan suatu pekerjaan. Begitu juga halnya pada SMA Negeri 1 Bumiayu agar tercapai prestasi yang tinggi dalam menentukan standar pengelolaan sekolah dan dapat lebih bijaksana dalam menentukan keberhasilan para siswa, setiap guru yang mempunyai tingkat kinerja yang tinggi dan dapat menjadikan anak didiknya berprestasi, maka yang didapatkan adalah tingkat jabatan yang lebih tinggi dari sebelumnya. Perubahan sosial, inovasi, teknologi dan bertambah ketatnya persaingan menghadapkan pada penerapan gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah pada tantangan yang sulit. Pemimpin dituntut untuk mampu merencanakan, mengkoordinasikan, dan mengorganisasikan sumber daya yang dimiliki agar berdaya guna dan berhasil untuk dapat bertahan dan berkembang di tengah lingkungan yang kompetitif. Dalam lingkungan yang demikian ketatnya kualitas sumber daya manusia sebagai aset yang utama yang merupakan tumpukan bagi kelangsungan hidup lembaga harus dapat dikelola dengan baik oleh pemimpin yang mempunyai kapasitas yang tinggi. Kapasitas kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin harus mampu memanage Intelleqtual Capital dan mengubahnya menjadi produk dan jasa yang berguna dalam meningkatkan efektivitas kinerja guru.
