The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the learning system in schools. The learning that initially took place in class spontaneously turned into online learning. This change requires teachers to be more creative in designing learning. This study aims to improve students’ critical thinking skills through online problem-based learning integrated into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (PBL-STEM). The research was conducted on students of class X IPA (Natural Science) in a high school in Cianjur with a Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. Penelitian ini disusun dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis STEM pada peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Ploso, Sentolo, Kulon Progo Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), di mana guru sebagai pelaksana pembelajaran sedangkan peneliti sebagai pengamat. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023, yaitu pada bulan Mei. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Ploso yang terdiri dari 4 peserta didik. Objek penelitian adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik, yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 63,3% (kategori cukup), kemudian pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 76,7% (kategori baik). Hal ini berarti terjadi peningkatan sebesar 13,4%. Dengan demikian penggunaan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis STEM dalam mata pelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Ploso.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran blended learning dengan pendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) kelas VIII-E SMP Negeri 18 Surabaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar observasi kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, dan angket respon siswa. The PJBL STEM approach is a learning approach that combines several scientific disciplines and combines the learning process using a project model. Through this approach, it is hoped that it can improve thinking skills, therefore this research was conducted to determine the effect of the steam approach in improving critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is quantitative with a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest with a population of fifth grade elementary school students. Research data was taken using critical thinking and observation questionnaire instruments. From the research results, it is known that the STEAM approach has a significant influence in improving the critical thinking abilities of fifth grade elementary school children. This increase is reflected in critical thinking indicators which show improvement compared to learning that does not use the STEAM approach. From the research results, it was obtained that the average percentage of each indicator during the pre-test was 43.56% and after treatment, the post-test results for each indicator were obtained with a percentage of 65.98, so that if you look at the average percentage for each indicator, there was an increase in ability. critical thinking of 22.42%.

Improving the quality of education in Indonesia can be developed through the implementation of education reform. One form of educational reform can be done by using a learning approach that can assist teachers in producing experts using the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach. This research is conducted to reveal the influence of Problem Based Learning method toward students’ critical thinking ability improvement on Introduction of Economy and Business subject in SMKN 1 Bandung. The method used in this research is quasi experimental with Nonequivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design.
