Owing to the hard-pressed way of life these days, online food applications have emerged as a trend. Everyone prefers to order food online, rather than cooking at home or eating home-cooked meals, in the search of flavor and variety. Advancing technology has been playing a significant role in the establishment and progression of online cellular food ordering applications of which HungerStation, Walem, Talabat, Daeemdelivery, Shadda, Careem Now, and Jahez are the most recurrent and frequently used applications by the customers in Saudi Arabia. In this paper, various factors are explored which influence the customers in the use of online food ordering applications by using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). Four factors, namely Right Contents & Packaging, Offers & Discounts, Timely Delivery, and User-Friendly, are identified and then, based on these factors' preferences of customers towards the top four online food ordering apps of Saudi Arabia are evaluated by Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) technique.

The global manufacturing supply chain has been disrupted by the negative impacts of the pandemic. In Southeast Asia, Vietnam’s manufacturing industry is one of the most strongly integrated with global and regional supply chains. The production strategies in the “new normal” are the key solution to the survival and sustainable development of manufacturers. This study aims to develop a two-stage framework to investigate the impacts of COVID-19 and the post-COVID-19 production strategies for Vietnam’s manufacturing industry. As a theoretical contribution, this study proposes a novel and robust integration approach, which combines the Ordinal Priority Approach (OPA) and Fuzzy Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution (Fuzzy EDAS), for the first time. The negative impacts of the pandemic were identified and weighted by the OPA method. Then, production strategies were comprehensively evaluated using the Fuzzy EDAS method. Findings indicate that digitization and on-site renewable ...

We present the idea of an application of the mixtures of Erlang distributions in the construction of the recombination mechanism in estimation of distribution algorithms. We analyze main properties of Erlang mixtures and define a new Erlang Mixture Estimation of Distribution Algorithm. We try to compare the efficiencies of ErM-EDA and evolutionary strategy in case of large populations. Some experimental results are presented after simple theoretical studies.

A new approach based on Estimation Distribution Algorithms for constrained multiobjective shape optimization is proposed in this article. Pareto dominance and feasibility rules are used to handle constraints. The algorithm uses feasible and infeasible individuals to estimate the probability distribution of evolving designs. Additionally, correlation among problem design variables is used to improve exploration. The design objectives are: minimum weight and minimum nodal displacement. Also, the resulting structures must fulfill three design constraints: a) maximum permissible Von Misses stress, b)connectedness of the structure elements, and c) small holes are not allowed in the structure. The finite element method is used to evaluate the objective functions and stress constraint. In this paper, a new Estimation of Distribution Algorithm (EDA) is presented. The proposed algorithm employs a dependency tree as a graphical model and bivariate copula functions for modeling relationships between pairwise variables. By selecting copula functions it is possible to build a very flexible joint distribution as a probabilistic model. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a better performance than EDAs based on Gaussian assumptions.

This paper presents the construction of an aggregated indicator of a fuelefficient driving style, in order to construct an efficient Ecological Driving Assistance System (EDAS). Such an eco-index can be used to detect eco-driving behaviour, but also to give to the driver useful advices to help him improving his driving efficiency without deteriorating safety. The logistic regression is used to model our experimental dataset of twenty subjects driving twice the same route: normally or following the golden rules of eco-driving. Depending on some driving indicators, the estimated probability of being an eco-driver is used as an eco-index to characterize that driving pattern. This work show how such a simple aggregated indicator, related to driving dynamics rather than fuel consumption, can be useful for driver monitoring and information. Two models, from the simplest to the most complicated, are compared, and their performances analysed.
