This study aims to determine the relationship of either single or double among the variables of body body height, arm length, arm muscle strength and leg power in the ability of free throw shoot of women athletes in Yogyakarta and how big the contribution from each of these variables. This study uses descriptive method with correlation analysis techniques. The population was woman basketball athletes in Yogyakarta who has done several games, and there were 106 people. The variables of this study consist of four independent variables they were body height, arm length, arm muscle strength and leg power. And the dependent variable was the ability of free throw shoot. All data required in this study were obtained through tests and measurements of each variable. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis by testing normality, linearity and testing the hypothesis which were a correlation analysis of each predictor, partial correlation analysis and regression analysis assisted by SPSS 20.0. The results showed that each variable of body height, arm length and arm muscle strength had a positive relationship with the ability of free throw shoot. As for the leg power, do not have a positive relationship. The contribution of each independent variable on the dependent variable as follows: 53.5% body height, arm length by 15.4%, arm muscle strength at 7.1%. The conclusions obtained from this study were from the four variables of body height, arm length, arm muscle strength and leg power, there were only three variables which contributed: body height, arm length and arm muscle strength.

Proper standing alignment requires that muscles, bones, and joints are in correct relation to each other, creating
elongation and symmetry while counteracting the detrimental force of gravity. Stability in active
standing with proper alignment requires intact neuromotor control, which is disrupted in the presence of
neuromotor impairment—a problem for many children who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

The objective of this study was to determine whether a correlation exists
between abnormal pronation and functional leg-length discrepancies. Visual
assessment and a pelvic thrust maneuver were used to identify the
functionally short leg in 56 indigenous Mexicans (20 males and 36 females;
mean age, 33 years; mean weight, 59 kg; and mean height, 1.60 m). The
Foot Posture Index was used with a modified stance position to identify
the more pronated foot. The posterosuperior iliac spines were used to
identify the “relative” position of the innominate bones. The raw data obtained
from this study were evaluated using the McNemar test for paired
proportions. A significant positive correlation was found between abnormal
pronation and hip position and between hip position and functional
leg-length discrepancy. These results are consistent with a theoretical
ascending dysfunctional pelvic model: Abnormal pronation pulls the innominate
bones anteriorly (forward); anterior rotation of the innominate
bones shifts the acetabula posteriorly and cephalad (backward and upward);
and this shift in the acetabula hyperextends the knees and shortens
the legs, with the shortest leg corresponding to the most pronated
foot. (J Am Podiatr Med Assoc 96(6): 499-507, 2006)

The secular change and socio-economic impact on it within developed countries have been well-documented in the past. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the brief analytic summary of the secular changes in growth pattern among Turkish children and adolescents during the last century. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 1,427 (709 boys and 718 girls) healthy schoolchildren aged 6-17 years in Ankara, Turkey. Historical data sets were obtained from previous survey reports. According to the standard anthropometric protocols height and iliospinal height measured, socio-economic status of the sample recorded. Results showed significant sexual dimorphism for height and iliospinal height (ANOVA p<0.001). Coinciding with the first half of the last century, periods of sudden decreases and subsequent recoveries were found. However, in the last three decades secular change accelerated. This appears to be a logical outcome of the gradual changes in nutrition, health care, education ...

Maya families from Guatemala migrated to the United States in record numbers from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. Births to Maya immigrant women have created a sizable number of Maya American children. The height and sitting height of 5 to 12 years children (n = 431) were measured in 1999 and 2000. Leg length was estimated and the sitting height ratio was calculated. These data were compared with a sample of Maya children living in Guatemala measured in 1998 (n = 1,347). Maya American children are currently 11.54 cm taller and 6.83 cm longer-legged, on average, than Maya children living in Guatemala. Consequently, the Maya Americans have a significantly lower average sitting height ratio (i.e., relatively longer legs in proportion to length of the head and trunk) than do the Maya in Guatemala. These results add support to the hypothesis that both the height and body proportions of human populations are sensitive indicators of the quality of the environment for growth. Am. J. Hum.
