A copper and cobalt deposit.

Mining started during the early 1400s during the reign of King Karl Knutsson, but very little is known from this period. Also, King Gustav Vasa tried around 1540 and 1551 without any success. The main mining period was from 1702 until 1873, with minor mining during World War I.

The individual mines are from south to north: Sörgruvan, Varpgruvan, Märrgruvan, Ceciliagruvan, Kommersgruvan, Smedjegruvan, Logruvan and Norrgruvan. The biggest was Kommersgruvan (the "Commerce" mine).

According to Tegengren (1924) the total copper production from 1613 until 1905 was 2,100 tons and 7.1 tons of cobalt during 1836-1841.

Note: Hakansbö is a spelling mistake that occurs in Dana's textbook (4th ed.) and Dana's System of Mineralogy (7th ed.).

Important note: This table is based only on rock and mineral ages recorded on mindat.org for this locality and is not necessarily a complete representation of the geochronology, but does give an indication of possible mineralization events relevant to this locality. As more age information is added this table may expand in the future. A break in the table simply indicates a lack of data entered here, not necessarily a break in the geologic sequence. Grey background entries are from different, related, localities.
