Three Hour Beachfront & Stadium Cycle in Durban Beachfront (original) (raw)

About Three Hour Beachfront & Stadium Cycle

Durban is a charming and cosmopolitan city, home to Africa's largest port and a melting pot of people and cultures. Zulu warriors still abound in the battlefields, South Africa's largest Indian community will enthrall you with their spicy cuisine and good old fashioned English families still populate the Indian Ocean coastline. And what better way to experience the sights and sounds of Durban than from the back of your bike?

This Eco-Active cycle starts and ends at the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, perched picturesquely alongside the Beachfront, with a guide there to assist you every pedal of the way! So get out of that stuffy tour bus, away from the traffic and urban jungle and join us for an enviromentally friendly and responsible adventure. We make our way along the Golden Mile, visiting the mouth of the Emgeni river then head back to pedal alongside Durban's famous 2010 World Cup stadium.

We make our way along the Golden Mile to Blue Lagoon, a place known for its bird watching as well as being a fisherman's paradise. Turning around we then face Durban's beautiful Beachfront skyline as we head towards the
stadium.

As we coast down a tiny hill into a tunnel we are greeted on the other side by a spectacular panoramic view of the stadium. From there we will make our way back to the to the Elangeni Hotel where a sumptuous spread of gourmet canapes and superb sparkling South African wine awaits us on the upper deck! There is no better way to celebrate our Eco-Active adventure as the sun sets over Durban in spectacular fashion.

NB: This cycle is fully supported with all equipment (bike, helmet, water bottle etc) and an experienced guide. Itineraries are fairly flexible and you are welcome to discuss your preferred route or sightseeing options with your guide. The cycle itself is pretty flat and easy going, suitable for all shapes and sizes, and we stop periodically for briefings about the different landmarks and areas of the city.
