Conclave of October 9 - November 23, 1700 (Clement XI)

Fifty-seven of the sixty-six cardinals participated. The French presented a veto against the election to the papacy of Cardinal Galeazzo Marescotti. Cardinal Gianfrancesco Albani was elected, after having declined the election for three days. He took the name Clement XI. He succeeded Pope Innocent XII, who died on September 27, 1700.

Conclave of March 31 - May 8, 1721 (Innocent XIII)

Fifty-six of the sixty-eight cardinals participated. Cardinal Mihály Frigyes Althan, bishop of Vác, Hungary, presented the veto of Emperor Karl VI against the election of Cardinal Fabrizio Paolucci. The Spanish king presented the veto against the election of Cardinal Francesco Pignatelli, seniore, Theat., archbishop of Naples and bishop of Sabina. Cardinal Michelangelo Conti was unanimously elected pope, and took the name Innocent XIII. Cardinal Vincenzo Maria Orsini, O.P. was elected and took the name Benedict XIII (he had taken the name Benedict XIV but soon changed from XIV to XIII because the previous Benedict XIII was an antipope). He succeeded Pope Innocent XIII, who died on March 7, 1724.

Conclave of March 5 - July 12, 1730 (Clement XII)

Fifty-six of the sixty-eight cardinals participated in the final vote. Cardinal Benedetto Pamphilj, O.S.Io.Hieros., who had not entered the conclave, died on March 22, 1730. Cardinal Bernardo Maria Conti, O.S.B.Cas., had an apoplexy in the conclave at 1 p.m., April 23, 1730 and died on that same day at 5:30 p.m. Cardinal Cornelio Bentivoglio presented the veto of King Felipe V of Spain against the election to the papacy of Cardinal Giuseppe Renato Imperiali, when he was one vote short of being elected. Cardinal Bentivoglio also presented the veto of King Felipe V of Spain against the election of Cardinal Antonfelice Zondadari. Cardinal Lorenzo Corsini was elected and took the name Clement XII. He succeeded Pope Benedict XIII, who died on February 21, 1730.

There were sixty-eight cardinals at the death of Pope Clement XII on February 6, 1740. Fifty-one of them took part in the final ballot. Four died during the sede vacante. Cardinal Troiano Acquaviva d'Aragona presented the veto of King Felipe V of Spain against the election of Cardinal Pier Marcellino Corradini. Cardinal Prospero Lambertini was elected and took the name Benedict XIV.

Conclave of May 15 - July 6, 1758 (Clement XIII)

At the death of Pope Benedict XIV on May 3, 1758, there were fifty-five cardinals. Forty-five participated in the conclave, while forty-four were present at the last ballot. King Louis XV of France presented a veto against the election of Cardinal Carlo Alberto Guidobono Cavalchini. Cardinal Carlo Rezzonico, seniore, was elected and took the name Clement XIII.

Conclave of February 15 - May 19, 1769 (Clement XIV)

At the death of Pope Clement XIII on February 2, 1769, there were fifty-seven cardinals. Forty-six of them participated in the conclave. France presented the veto against the election of Cardinal Simone Buonaccorsi. Cardinal Lorenzo Ganganelli, O.F.M.Conv., was elected and took the name Clement XIV.

Conclave of October 5, 1774 - February 15, 1775 (Pius VI)

Forty-four of the fifty-five cardinals participated. Eleven were absent entirely from the election, including two who died while it was in progress. The Bourbon courts expressed their oppostion to the election to the papacy of Cardinal Giovanni Carlo Boschi. Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Braschi was elected and took the name Pius VI. He succeeded Pope Clement XIV, who died on September 22, 1774.
