In the current upload, I added myself as uploader, is this more suitable? That's even worse.

FWIW I just opened a RFA for vnstat since I don't have time to maintain it and don't use the package myself (#874387). If anyone wants to adopt the package, go for it :)

From a quick glance at the changes it seems to me that none of the patches are suitable to be included in the package and should be submitted upstream instead. Generally patches should only be added if there is a good reason to diverge from upstream or the changes are important/urgent.
