Mythen des Alltags (Mythologies) ist ein Werk des französischen Poststrukturalisten und Semiotikers Roland Barthes aus dem Jahr 1957. Eine deutsche Übersetzung von Helmut Scheffel erschien erstmals 1964 stark gekürzt im Suhrkamp Verlag mit nur 19 anstatt der ursprünglich 53 Essays im ersten Teil, der zweite, theoretische Teil blieb unverändert. Im Jahr 2010 erschienen die Mythologies vollständig in deutscher Übersetzung von Horst Brühmann.

Barthes parte de la semiología, actualizando las teorías de Ferdinand de Saussure sobre la estructura del signo (relación convencional y arbitraria entre significante y significado). Añade un segundo nivel donde el signo funciona todo él como un significante y queda así elevado al nivel de mito. (es) Mythologies is a 1957 book by Roland Barthes. It is a collection of essays taken from Les Lettres nouvelles, examining the tendency of contemporary social value systems to create modern myths. Barthes also looks at the semiology of the process of myth creation, updating Ferdinand de Saussure's system of sign analysis by adding a second level where signs are elevated to the level of myth. (en) Mythologies est un recueil de 53 textes rédigés par Roland Barthes entre 1954 et 1956 au fil des mois et au gré de l'actualité, publié aux éditions du Seuil en 1957. Dans l'avant-propos, Barthes précise son projet : « Le matériel de cette réflexion a pu être très varié (un article de presse, une photographie d'hebdomadaire, un film, un spectacle, une exposition), et le sujet très arbitraire : il s'agissait évidemment de mon actualité. » L'analyse emprunte à la sémiologie, mais aussi à l'observation sociologique. Cet essai a exercé une certaine influence sur des journalistes et écrivains de langue française, par exemple Georges Perec et Jérôme Garcin. Il a été traduit en anglais dans les années 1970, sous le titre de The Eiffel Tower and Other Mythologies (1979), par Richard Howard.
