He developed the stud at Eaton Hall and achieved success in racing his horses, winning the Derby on four occasions. Grosvenor also took an interest in a range of charities. At his death he was considered to be the richest man in Britain. Grosvenor also (en) Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1er duc de Westminster, KG, PC, JP (13 octobre 1825 - 22 décembre 1899), titré vicomte Belgrave entre 1831 et 1845 et comte de Grosvenor entre 1845 et 1869, et connu sous le nom de marquis de Westminster entre 1869 et 1874, est un propriétaire terrien anglais, homme politique et propriétaire de chevaux de course. Il hérite d'Eaton Hall dans le Cheshire et de terres à Mayfair et Belgravia à Londres et consacre une grande partie de sa fortune au développement de ces propriétés. Bien qu’il ait été député à l’âge de 22 ans, puis à la Chambre des lords, ses principaux centres d’intérêt ne sont pas la politique, mais ses domaines, les courses de chevaux et les activités à la campagne.
